Finally got abs!

I have no one to tell IRL without sounding like a boastful twit, so I hope I will get away with it here... After my second DC I was so flabby (well, and overweight, but I hoped I’d get back to my usual weight over time: I gained a lot in both pregnancies but went back to normal within a year after the first), and decided to invest in 12 sessions with a personal trainer. It felt very expensive, but I thought if I put my money where my mouth is maybe I’ll actually commit and sort myself out. I’ve had half my sessions, and I now have visible abs! On the sides, the mum-tum continues to exist, but I feel SO good and also proud of myself for doing the sessions (one even in light rain!, and one when recovering from food poisoning), taking baby along for most of them as I didn’t have childcare, putting the work in - and seeing the rewards! Hoping the rest of the sessions will pay off even more, and once I have some mental space I will try his diet plan too. So pleased!

What a fab post, well done! What sort of exercise have you been doing?

NoImNotPregnant · 06/09/2020 10:21

Well done OP! Great that you've stuck to the plan are seeing the rewards, hope it's a great incentive to continue Smile

DD is 2.5 and I'm hoping to try for another in the new year. I lost all my baby weight but have gained weight slowly over the last year - I'm aiming to lose a stone and increase my fitness before I start TTC again - you've motivated me to get cracking!

I’ve been shocked at how easy it’s been, to be honest. After the first session I was in a lot of pain, but since then my body has adjusted and I’m completely fine- maybe just a bit sore going up and down the stairs? Having someone keep me accountable and trying hard, has been worth its weight in gold, and you can’t put a price on confidence!

We’ve been doing sort of mini circuits, say each circuit has 5 activities, I do 10-15 reps of each, go round the circuit 4 times, then move on. 1h session and stretching afterwards. It’s been mostly weights- deadlifts, shoulder presses, lunges with weights, various types of crunches, using a rope (loved it the first time, hate it so much now! Bloody hard work), stepping, bicep curls, swinging kettle bells... all kinds. So nice to have someone else telling me what to do so I don’t even have to think about it, too.

Great work OP! It's lovely to read x

This is amazing, I had mine for 18 months full blown abs, it was hell trying to keep them mind.

They are now safely tucked away under about 4kg of excess tummy rolls 😂 but I know they are there, you've just made me feel all motivated to see them again. So thank you!

Your PT sounds fab, keep going if you can afford it, it's given you the exercise bug and 4 years on I still train, I've just had to take 6 months out due to ill health but itching to get back 🥳

Thanks everyone! I’d forgotten I’d posted this so was nice to read the messages Smile Unfortunately we postponed today’s session as PT was unwell, but we’ve got renovations going on so I was quite busy anyway. I think I’m going to finish the sessions I’ve got booked with him this month, then try his 1500cal/day diet for a month, and then probably train weekly. I love feeling sexy- and strong, which I desperately need with two active/heavy little ones and a lot of stairs in my house Grin
