Home workouts to replace PE with Joe

Hi

We have been doing PE with Joe all through lockdown and have really enjoyed it.

His workouts have finished now, but I am keen to keep us going.

What other home workouts would you recommend? I don't have any equipment at home.

Thanks!

I do workouts on Popsugar on YouTube. There are lots of different types so you can see which you like better. Some HIIT and tabata but plenty of other things, so I discovered that I like kickboxing workouts.

I've wandered onto popsugar fitness as well. I found something called boxing and bubbles that I like!

If you're really a Joe fan, it sounds like he'll still be posting content though , it just won't be live

Another Popsugar lover here.

How has always done workouts, the PE ones were just aimed at kids to keep them active while school was closed.
His channel on YouTube is The Body Coach TV, loads of content on there

Oooo good post op. I was wondering what joe alternatives there were.

I've checked out some of joe's other workouts, especially the ones where he's in exotic places. But I don't like how they don't have a warm up or cool down.

Will check out popsugar at 9am tomorrow.

You could take a look at Fitness Blender too? But if you like Joe, I'd just go through some of his others on You Tube.

Thanks for the recommendations! We are now doing the 7 days of Sweat on the Body Coach channel. I agree about the lack of warm ups/cool downs though! We just sort of make our own up based on what he used to do for PE.

I assumed Joe's non-PE workouts would be too difficult (I'm fairly average fitness, but he is obviously super fit!), but I've actually been adapting the Sweat ones to make them harder.

I'll have a look at Popsugar too.

Make a list of all the different exercises you've done in PE, write them on bits of paper, fold them up and play "lucky dip" PE. So pick maybe 5 exercises out, either set a timer or do a certain number of reps of each, or do a pyramid workout so you do exercise 1, then exercise 1 followed by exercise 2, then exercise 1, 2 & 3 etc, get to the top and reverse it. There's nothing particularly complex about what he's done in those sessions that you can't mix up at home.
If you're doing it with kids and have some outdoor space then work in pairs so one does say 10 star jumps while the other runs back and forth, then swap over, then do the same for the next exercise etc.

I did a Popsugar Tabata workout this morning. It was really good.

3 or 4 rounds of 6 exercise. Cardio, core, abs & running

20 seconds of exercise 10 seconds rest. With a minute rest between each round.
You do 2 rounds of each exercise.

1 instructor with 2 assistants. One of the assistants did a slightly different exercise. Which you could do if you couldn't do the main exercise.

Decent warm up and cool down.
