Hi, I am new to exercising (other than walking really) since lockdown. Started with Joe Wicks PE and moved on to Popsugar workouts every day.

I bought a sports bra last week and ordered a mat yesterday. Now I am looking at what trousers are best to wear? I get really sweaty, I usually wear my pyjama trousers or thin summer jersey trousers which are not ideal! What is a cheap type of exercise trousers to look for that will keep me a bit less sweaty please?

I would go for the sort of hi-tech wicking tights sold for runners.

Try Decathlon - VFM is unbeatable. The stuff is good quality, doesn't go see-thru, has drawstrings and have plenty of pockets. They offer different lengths and weights of fabric according to season.

I second Decathlon. I have some cropped trousers similar to these. They're very cool and allow easy movement.

Second second running tights. My favourites are the higherstate ones with the pocket at the back for keys, cheap as these things go and good quality too. Only downside so far is that they have zips on the low legs, which you can unzip if you wanted to turn them up, but they dig in if I sit with my feet underneath me.

Thank you all! I ordered some cropped ones as I am tall and the full length ones were too short. I am quite excited for them to arrive! I have never before enjoyed exercising but I am now addicted!

I get most of my kit from TK Maxx (when its open). I've had some bargain posh bits from there, including trainers. The leggings have to pass the squat test and be high waisted as well!

My favourite exercise leggings are from Next (next one brand) and I think they are about £15. I usually order them online, they come really quickly and are made of that material that absorbs sweat! They are high waisted which I love (holds in my tum a bit!) and have a little zip pocket at the back to hold my phone! Highly recommend, very good value for money!

I like shorts for running as I hate fabric around my legs when I run and leggings for everything else. Agree decathlon and TK Maxx are great

Thank you! Great to have more suggestions for the future.
