Hello,

I am thinking of getting one of these to assit with toning and losing weight would be good too but not too bothered about that as I probably need to do that the hard way.

I am on low carb but hate exercising but do walk every day but am very flabby and would like opinions if these are good in that they speed up toning/firming up etc?

Does anyone have one and would recommend them . Obviously I would do exercise on it and not just stand there lol.

Thanks in advance

I used to have them and I lifted weights on them, I found them not nearly as "full on" as the ones at the gym even on the highest setting. I got rid of them after six months.

Pjmask,

Hmm, they do sound a bit too good to be true but most of them seem to have very good reviews although a bit confusing with 3D and 4D although they are more expensive.

Toning and firming up aren't real things. You have two main things that change in body composition, body fat and muscle. By toning people generally mean reduce bodyfat and build muscle. I don't see how vibration plates would build muscle at all, you'd be better lifting weights safely. How much do you walk? Do you walk briskly? This would do a lot more to reduce bodyfat IMHO.

superstar63 · 28/05/2020 21:04

I usually walk about 30 - 45 minutes a day not too briskly as I have bad knees and just thought the vibration plate may be beneficial with the elastic bands they come with and small squats etc.

I'd just get some resistance bands and do some strengthening exercises without the plate.

Well, I caved and have bought one (3D) but it has not been delivered yet but will update in a couple of weeks if anyone is interested?

It does have resistance bands attached too.

Hello,

Well I cant say I have seen any difference in weight or inch loss and I go on it most days but the good news is that it does make me get on and do a few exercises that I would not normally do (with weights).

I sometimes use the resistance bands too.

How are you getting on with your new one?

It arrived yesterday so I did my first workout using the dvd that came with it. Only 7 mins but I can feel it a bit in my stomach and thighs. I think you are right it might be just getting me to exercise when I wasn't before so that's better than nothing. I've taken measurements and going to do three to four sessions a week and keep track so will let you know how I get on.

superstar63 · 15/07/2020 13:19

Which make did you get? Mine is Bluefin 3D but it didnt come with a DVD but have looked at some youtube workouts.

I got the vibrapower slim 3 I've done the workout from their YouTube video. I've also downloaded the power plate app and done one of their workouts today

superstar63 · 19/07/2020 09:19

You must have lost a dress size and 3lbs in weight by now then lol.

I am a bit disappointed (again) after reading so many very positive reviews but as I said before at least I get on it and do a bit of weights so maybe not such a bad thing.

@superstar63 @imnottoofussed. How are you both getting on now, a few months down the line? I'm looking to get a 3D plate in the Black Friday sales, but am having have doubts. Thanks.

superstar63 · 30/11/2020 12:42

@Inaseagull - Sorry to report but I am not happy with mine and it has aggravated my arthritis in my knees.

Inaseagull · 30/11/2020 12:51

Oh no! That's a shame. I have a plate in my ankle, so am thinking it might aggravate that (although I'm hoping they will remove it after a year). Worst case scenario, I have seen someone sit on it and twist side to side for a good abs workout. I'd like to find my abs... Thanks for the update!

imnottoofussed · 19/12/2020 23:51

During the summer I was doing this workout every weekday from YouTube from a woman called Amber Kivett and felt a lot fitter but it's not magical. I've not done anything for a few months though as I've gone into winter lazy mode and my flabby bits are reappearing.
