Has anyone tried Sharny & Julius?

I keep seeing their adverts on Facebook. I have diastasis recti and an umbilical hernia. Had physio a few years ago which helped a lot but I've lost a lot of core muscle strength since then. Considering this but wondered if anyone had tried it and what your thoughts are?

I advise to anyone looking at sharnyand julius to check the reviews on www.productreview.com.au/listings/sharny-and-julius and you will be shocked

Tryingtogetitright · 07/02/2021 18:18

Interesting! I've only just seen all the replies!... Shock

I didn't go with Sharny and Julius in the end, am using the Every Mother app and am very impressed with it.

I have just ordered Strong Core and Pelvic Floor. Once I get all of logins and start, I will post an update. I am not expecting much, so anything positive would be a bonus :-)

Teeby · 13/02/2021 14:26

Oh crap, for some reason the recent messages did not show up for me. Just read the reviews :-(. I haven't seen the program yet but I feel like I have been scammed, darn it. I will still give a review on here, once I have watched it. I feel like I need to make better choices lol

Sperk · 13/02/2021 15:19

@Teeby the SCPF programme is not for everyone. But it does work. I recommend the Fit, Healthy, Happy Mum programme. It's a nice community. It's heavily policed by admins, sometimes too much so, but it does keep it positive and means there is no nastiness tolerated

Teeby · 13/02/2021 15:23

Okey dokey. So I have just watched it and I will be honest it's probably not for me. The warm up is fine, which I can do no problem, it's in three parts, easy peasy. The actual workout involves using your fingers (inserted), which would need to be done in the bathroom, as I have teenage kids in the house and cannot afford to put them in therapy at the mo. You also need a jade egg, which I do not have. I stopped after the warm up to be honest. What I was actually looking for were safe workout moves to do, like pelvic floor yoga moves, whereby the person would do them with me and I could just get them done first thing in the morning. This was not it! I am sure if you invest in a jade egg and maybe do this for a few minutes in the shower or a room with a lock on it, every day, it would probably work.

I can use the warm up exercises but it is worth the $$$, no, not for me. The write up states no equipment needed, but the egg is big part of it and is generally needed, I would say. Is it a scam? I don't really know. Is the advertising misleading? Yes 100%. You could hear kids in the background, it didn't both me. She does speak openly, this didn't bother me either (although you might want your kids not to be near when playing it?).

There is a secret Facebook page, which I am waiting for the login details for. I am hoping this might be worth it, and redeems itself a bit, but right now I am losing hope. I would like to speak to like minded people honestly and openly. So you never know. I will update on the FB group when I am in.

As much as I hate throwing $$$ away, I will keep it and will be greateful it wasn't hundreds of $$$. Sad though, for sure and disappointing.

Teeby · 13/02/2021 15:28

@sperk - maybe some of the other programs are fine. I don't think I will try them though, as I want to specifically work on my pelvic floor safely. I am honestly thinking I will stick with pelvic floor yoga moves and hope for the best. Not the miracle I was hoping for :-(. Thanks for replying though.

Sperk · 13/02/2021 15:37

@Teeby I just bought kegal balls from Amazon. I prefer them for hygiene reasons, as much as cost. The reason they keep SCPF programme and group seperate from the FHHM programme is to protect children from the very X rated stuff in SCPF. The vaccy exercise fixes ab separation and the different squeezes strengthen the pelvic floor. It's not so much a general exercise programme.

Try MUTU or YouTube stuff if you want an exercise programme you can do with a weak pelvic floor. Use SCPF if you want to fix your pelvic floor and be able to do normal workouts.

Would I have bought both programmes knowing what I know now? Probably not. The SCPF programme is certainly much more limited than the FHHM programme, yet it costs the same. I don't think they are worth the same, personally.

Teeby · 21/02/2021 01:22

@sperk. Thanks for the info, I will certainly look into them. Yes, in all honesty I did go on to you tube and pretty much found what I was looking for. I don't actually have ab separation, although to be honest it's been many years since I have even seen a glimps of my abs lol. I do have a Drs appt to see where I am at but my feeling is that I need strengethning as opposed to repair but I am not really sure, I could need minimal repair? At least I have it now on the off chance I will need a repair down the line. Thanks for responding and your info, it's much appreciated.

GingerScallop · 21/02/2021 02:43

Can you say what your experience of every mother app has been? Am interested

Sperk · 21/02/2021 08:35

@Teeby 😘

Tryingtogetitright · 22/02/2021 20:44

@GingerScallop
I've been really impressed. There are different "guided paths" depending on how fit you are already. I started with the postpartum which is safe from 6 weeks after giving birth (I was 3.5 years late starting!). That took six weeks. Have been dieting too but my stomach is so much better. You get set exercises to do each day - some days just 10 minutes of "core compressions", others a workout as well. I moved up a stage to "Reclaim Light" which I'm 60 days into. (so doing the program for 100 days consistently) - before and after photos attached - this was after 2 months I think. Ticking each day off really works for me. I'd 100% recommend it.

Thank you @Tryingtogetitright. Wow, I would kill for your before tummy. But yeah it looks like if one is committed then it's worth it. I also saw that MUTU is being trialled by some NHS trust so that's interesting too. I think I have to muster lots of will and consistency and dive in. Thanks

Teeby · 23/02/2021 11:46

@Tryingtogetitright - oh wow, you look amazing in both photos, that's a huge achievement in a couple of months. I may have to look this program up, I too like to tick of the days. Congrats on all of your hard work!

ICous · 13/03/2021 02:39

I bought the program 2 years ago. My thoughts: $49 for a lifetime membership???
They are selling other programs as well, but the main program is a very good start and you will find everything you need in there.
There is not just one meal plan, but 5 to try out.
The exercise videos are done in such a way, so you can exercise with them.
It is easy, short exercises ( daily).....and it is working!
You don't have to eat rabbit food like the lady explained above, they have a very good explanation re Keto diet. You can follow which ever one you please.
This was one of my best buys! I love the program because it is working. Fit healthy happy mom!

Jodimc7 · 13/03/2021 11:20

Hi, I purchased this about 2 years ago and never really got into it but 4 weeks ago I just thought it was worth a try again as I really wanted to lose weight. In 4 weeks I have lost 2 stone! There is a private facebook group that offers so much support and lots of meal ideas. I was suffering from joint pain and headaches constantly and honestly haven't suffered from either since I started. I have never felt hungry and there is so much you can do with vegetables its amazing! I've only done the short workouts that last about 5 mins but there are extended ones also. I've even had my normal roast dinner every sunday and if I want a little pick me up with a cup of tea I'll have a ryvita with Peanut butter. Hope this helps!

Carina199121 · 25/03/2021 16:44

I am doing this. I'm on week 8.

I started at a size 18 and now a size 14. I went for it because I kept seeing ads on my Facebook and thought i would give it a go.

I have tried all different diets and this one with sharny and julius is amazing

Cocomaloco · 02/04/2021 16:49

I also did the nourish plan a few years ago after my last child. I lost 2 stone. I didn’t do any of the exercises only the food plan. You really need to be in the zone to commit to it but I would recommend watching all the videos. The Facebook page is good and there is plenty of support there if you need it. I am now starting back on it again and there is no more money to pay as membership is for life.

Happyfrenchy · 07/06/2021 22:35

I actually signed up in March 2020 as I was a new mam of 3 months old and my body was crashing in pain. It took me a while to feel really ready and hit rock bottom. And on January 01st 2021 I started. And now, I have already lost 22kg, 2 pants sizes and I have never felt so alive and happy! I have tons of energy and I have learnt to make healthy choices so my life is pretty fantastic and I still can eat the things I like.
And bonus I have learnt to understand my body and mind even more in the process. Sometimes you don't realise you are your worst enemy until you experience happy and healthy again. So if you have any doubt, sign up and be ready to let a storm of goodness in your life! Because it really changed my life and my family life too in the process 😂🙏😎 and bonus only 45 euros for lifetime program and an amazing community who will support you at all times!!

Waddy1983 · 16/08/2021 09:57

Hi, I've just purchased the SCPF, it converted to £34 and a few pence. You need a Jade Egg (I got a set from Amazon for £25) and Luggage Weight (Also from Amazon for £10.99) for the exercises, however you can use Kegal Balls if you have them instead of purchasing extras.

I haven't tried the exercises yet as I'm waiting for the items to arrive, which should be here tomorrow, however from going through all of the videos (There are 96/98) but they're between 1 minute - 5 minutes each so doesn't take too long, and I watched them on my phone whilst prepping dinner and then once the children went to bed.

The daily 'exercises' do seem as though it will only take around 10 minutes once you get into the swing on things, and you get invited to join a Facebook group, which from the online posts everyone seems to have had improvements.

I have a prolapse after having my 2nd baby in Oct 2019 and was with a physio until Covid hit in Apr 2020 so didn't have much improvement other than not wetting myself when I walked so I'm hoping I'll be able to go to the gym in a month or so without needing a TennaLady with me!

Waddy1983 · 16/08/2021 10:06

@Happyfrenchy Did you purchase the FHHM programme? After purchasing SCPF I am tempted to purchase but wasn't sure after some of the comments (and wanted to see if SCFP worked first too)

CG82X · 28/12/2021 11:02

I just send you a PM with a question..... Hope you don't mind

Carina199121 · 27/08/2022 18:10

Yes I am in the fit mum and strong core. Highly recommend I lost a lot of weight with it.

Will definitely be doing it again when I move out this house due to stress.

Please pm me to see my results and what I did with sharny and julius.

So since someone at @Sharny and Julius is deleting my comments exposing the fallacy behind her ad campaign, I’m gonna say it all here. Because literally NO ONE says this (except surgeons, apparently).

TL/DR: You cannot “fix” or “heal” every diastasis recti with only exercise. Every claim you see out there where someone says that they have an exercise program that is better than surgery and they can fix it - that’s false advertising. It’s not true.

What you CAN do with exercise is assist the muscles in being functional again. What you CAN’T do is make your muscles permanently go back to the way they were before the separation.

Here’s what they’re not telling you (and this is contained in the comments they’re deleting): Diastasis recti is a n” to your arm and your bicep by continually having the muscle bulked and constricted and tight, so it mimicked a normal bicep. You could pick up groceries and your kids and do dishes and drive and … you know, everything that requires functional biceps to make happen. Did you fix it? Did you heal it? No. You still have your condition. What you’ve done is used over-exertion to temporarily mask the lack of function. That’s what these exercises are.

Why does this matter? It matters because people age. Life happens. Illnesses, accidents, and life circumstances get in the way. A human CAN’T hit the gym that hard every day of their life up to and including when they’re 95. It’s a NON SUSTAINABLE option.

My suspicion was that these people who sell exercise programs know this. They just don’t tell you. They don’t tell you that they’re selling the appearance of a fix. They don’t tell you that the majority of diastases that exist past roughly one year postpartum are permanent and not fixable via exercise. You do, in fact, NEED surgery.

Please be honest when trying to sell your product!!!
