Has anyone tried Sharny & Julius?

I keep seeing their adverts on Facebook. I have diastasis recti and an umbilical hernia. Had physio a few years ago which helped a lot but I've lost a lot of core muscle strength since then. Considering this but wondered if anyone had tried it and what your thoughts are?

Spam? Scam? What are you talking about? I'm guessing you DON'T have the programme, or haven't done it. I have and am doing it. What a contrast you bitter, bitchy lot are to the S&J community. Sad

Wow, that poor lady! I can't believe you presumed it was spam straight away just because she was the first positive review. I'm surprised how negative these experiences have been of Sharny & Julius. I don't feel the same way. I'm not interested in the weight loss or diet programmes though so can't speak for them, but for about £30 I was happy with what I got with the Pelvic Floor course. It wasn't what I expected at all, as I also have the Mutu course and thought it would be similar. I've liked having both. Mutu is more a fitness programme and I enjoy doing her short diastasis safe exercise routines now and then. Sharny is lots of little videos talking about how to repair from the inside. This is achieved by using toys as resistance training! Yes, I was shocked too at first! She recommends a jade yoni egg but I don't have one so I've been using a toy I had (forgotten about in the back of a drawer somewhere, ha!) She does mention you can use one instead of you don't have an egg. It all seemed a little unconventional to me at first, but I've seen other people on YouTube explaining the same logic. I think over time it will be common practice. Anyway. Sharny seems like a lovely person. Listening to her helped me to get motivated. Seeing her with the kids running running around made me feel it was achievable, I have three very little ones myself. The internal exercises take maybe 10mins but I can feel different muscles really working so I think it's helping. I've only just started doing it daily so can't tell you how fully effective it is yet. I think for the price you pay it's worth it. Mutu cost a lot more. As long as you know what to expect I don't think you'll be disappointed. Just to clarify, this review is only about the Pelvic floor course, as I know she has others online.

For pelvic floor issues I 100% recommend NeuroTrac, I’ve been using it 3 times a week for 8 weeks and the last 2 weeks I’ve been completely symptom free

Sperk · 28/11/2020 10:34

@harista thank you! 😊 I had MUTU, too. They are quite different styles, so it is nice to have both (although MUTU was a bit boring for me). I really like Sharny, too, and the Facebook support groups are really nice. I'm part of the Fit, Healthy, Happy, Mum programme now and that's lots of exercise, as well as diet. People adapt it all to what best suits them. From what I can tell, the people who have been very negative about S&J programmes haven't watched past the first few minutes if the first video or so. Good luck 💪💜

There are not a lot of reviews online and my guess is because it's quite expensive $47USD for 'lifetime' access to a strong core pelvic floor program. I have been struggling since birth of second child and finally gave in to one of the many FB ads. I am so disappointed in myself. The program is rubbish. There is SERIOUS misinformation, it's dangerous especially in the FB group. They have a no refund policy but that's going to be difficult to maintain when people become more vocal. I think a lot of people buy into it and honestly, they live in a ridiculous apartment in HK where property is EXTREMELY expensive. How do they manage that? Well the programs are obviously making them a lot of money. It's very very very poor form.

As for the program. It basically consists of three exercises including sucking your tummy in for periods of time, using a kegel ball or her preference jade egg to tone your vagina and then basically doing a ridiculous unwarranted 'detox' and staying off all sugar, grains, dairy for no good reason. It's DANGEROUS. And yeah, if you do that, you'll lose weight but for how long? IT's her business and imperative to do it because she makes a lot of money, but you? me? No. NO NO. It's really sad and awful and I wish there were more places to leave honest reviews

What absolute rubbish! Still laughing at how pathetic and resentful and mean some of you are. You would not have been met with that type of abuse; you are obviously lying. And for the last damn time I'm a normal mum and I wish I was paid just for telling the truth but unfortunately I am not!

harista · 07/12/2020 00:36

(Sorry this turned out to be a long post but here goes)... I'm so shocked at your opinion and experience and surprised the positive reviews here are in the minority. I had diastasis recti after my second was born and received treatment after a referreal for physio by my GP, but fell pregnant again. I clearly had to wait until after baby no. 3 had arrived and of course the gap and associated weakness was there again postpartum. I have tried the Pilates exercises I worked on before and followed the mutu programme (though not religiously, a walk a day with three very little ones isn't really feasible for me). I've done countless diastasis safe body conditioning videos from YouTube. I still found although I got stronger I wasn't making the full progress I wanted to see. I thought I'd try the Sharny & Julius programme because I read that she suffered from a gap after having six kids but was able to heal her core enough to be able to complete a marathon. My main goal is to get back to doing endurance events like that so I thought I'd give it a shot. I was really surprised to find it was mainly just a lot of talking videos and only a few exercises on a sheet really. Initially I was a bit disappointed but I played them all in the background while cooking the dinner and found what she said really interesting. I took away so much more from it than I expected to. Listening to her experience made me feel there was hope. It also made me realise I hadn't even considered working from the inside, despite the fact I've been working on my core and pelvic floor issues for such a long time now (twice over). It really was a light bulb moment. I also realised I'd been kind of switched off down there. I'm so busy with the kids and just getting through the day that it's something I hadn't thought about but I've started doing the exercises first thing before the kids wake and I feel so energised, happier, stronger and straighter even since I've been doing this. I can't say much about the forum as I haven't been on there. I can't say it will be everyone's thing if you're after a full course and full guided exercises etc. I didn't want any advice re. diet and I've been managing to get fit and strong doing my own thing. For me it was just the advice about working from the inside that was key. I personally like Sharny's relaxed and light-hearted approach. I don't think she seems like a money-grabber at all. She seems like she wants to share her experience to help others. She says as much. I just checked and it works out as £35. I don't think that's too much. You'd pay that for a session with a PT. But like I said before, it depends what you're after. I'd tried lots of other things but this was something new to me. I don't think the flat in Hong Kong or wherever it was is where they live by the way... I think they sold everything and set off travelling the world with the kids. They have a vlog on YouTube/Facebook They genuinely seem Iike a lovely family. But anyway. I'm not posting this specifically in defence of them, I'm posting it because there might be someone like me who might find they get something from it. I wish I was getting paid for this by the way, ha! Of course you're entitled to your opinion of the programme but you should consider the possibility that you're wrong about the paid commenters allegation... We'll anyway, I've only just started the programme so maybe I'm just overexcited to try something new. I'll give it a few weeks and post back here to let you know if I really do see a physical improvement. Interested to try this Neuro Trac thing next if I don't get anywhere!

I'm so confused by your experience and the words you used to describe it. I don't agree that it's a scam. If there was literally no information or anything of any value or use in return for your money I'd agree it was a scam but you receive some exercises (granted, not many), a lot of information and discussion based on personal experience, contact details for support, (my query emails were replied to quickly by really lovely, jolly people btw), and access to the private Facebook page, which I'm guessing is where you didn't get along with a few people. I've had a look now and there are some great positive discussions and some heartwarming revelations and honest, open posts from people who are so excited to have found a new lease of life. As someone else said though, there could be poor advice on there as I'm pretty sure that page isn't monitored or checked, it's just for friendly informal chat. I was wondering if you tried the exercises over a period of time and didn't see any results? I'd be surprised if not. Well, never mind. It clearly wasn't for you. It definitely won't be for everyone as it's pretty intimate. Have you found another programme or anything else that's working for you? I'm not biased just to Sharny & Julius and am happy to promote the ' Bodyfit by Amy' YouTube exercise videos I've also been a bit obsessed with lately, which I'm sure have also helped me see the improvement I have. She has some good diastasis recti postnatal routines as well as loads of diastasis safe Pilates and cardio workouts. The ones I've done have been about 20mins long so they're great as I usually have a child or two crawling all over me. Would love to hear what everyone else has found is working for them!

@harista you are very diplomatic. I salute you 💜

Sammidudemum · 29/12/2020 19:28

Hi, I know your post is quite old but just want to say I’ve done Sharny and Julius. I did the Nourish programme for 8 weeks and lost 1.5stone (about 11kg). I only did the diet and not the exercise programme. Yes, it’s hard to stick to, it’s basically a keto diet, but I saw results in the first week and this spurred me on. Because it is rounds of 8 weeks, you always know it’s going to end and that makes it easier to cope. I still cooked regular meals for my family so you need a will of iron to keep going but I can honestly say I’m so pleased I did. I dropped a dress size, lost loads of belly and face fat and felt amazing. I am starting round two on 4th January and hope to lose another stone. One thing I will say is you need to be in the right headspace for this to work. No point in going at it half arsed, all in is the only way. The sign up fee is for life so you can keep going back to it if you do happen to fall off the wagon, just forgive yourself and try again, as many times as you need to. Good Luck!

I started yesterday. Would love to chat about it privately if you can DM me on Facebook? @clairelagerwall

Hello, Good I found this so now I know not to buy. I wanted to try the nourish diet, but frankly I hope they had some magical answers to losing weight this quickly but better way than starving yourself ... Otherwise, they kicked me out of commenting or posting chat message because I commented on one post to STOP reposting the old extreme changes and asked if they had lack of them to be doing this ... So the day later on, I found myself blocked !! I asked myself what kind of person does this if they stick by their believes they are doing good job . So another thing to assure me it's a good for nothing. Money it's just 38€ but for every program it's the same sum not for all of them. So thank you guys. I was wondering how it's possible they have no negative comments 😃. Well ,they deleted mine so , probably that's why . I'll stick with Dolly Holke's free YouTube vids and make my own diet plan that can be followed. AH, remembered I also asked them on different post, if the body won't stagnate with this if a person went through too much diets already, water fasting and stuff people do in destructive cycle and just end up JOJOed, AND keep the weight off while refeeding and returning to normal stuff. (Rice, potatoes, red meat, milk, cheese- those are normal foods)So I guess I stepped on some sore spot with the question. And the answer is a NO.
So with this much said the post got longer than I intended, gotta go to sleep, take care and be healthy. Xoxo

Sperk · 10/01/2021 09:28

Goodness, I'm so glad to have the wisdom of your years of personal training and nutrition expertise. Ffs. 🙄 It's a good thing people like you DON'T end up on the programme.

Patriciaxo · 10/01/2021 10:21

Of course YOU had to reply. :D why? Nobody gives a damn about you. Seeing you after a year still trying to sell product that some people could do without paying just doing their own research shows how desperate you are. Frankly you bore me and I think you need to get a life :D Stop being rude and trying to make people bad. Stop trying to convince people you are right because you are not. Stop replaying to every comment that does not agree with you. You're comical really. If you just undermining people's experiences, so have no room to talk. Have a nice day and PLEASE do not replay, as it will show just how desperate for attention you are.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Karmib · 12/01/2021 08:52

It has got some really bad reviews

Sperk · 12/01/2021 10:22

All I can say is that, truthfully, I have never felt so supported on a diet and fitness plan. That's goes for the private Facebook group (different to the public S&J FB group), the support crew (who are 24/7 and answer questions really quickly) and Sharny and Julius themselves (they frequently do extensive Facebook Live videos, including Q&A, and loads of support and advice - at the moment every Sunday - on the private Facebook group). Each programme is £38 for life. When new content gets uploaded, you don't pay extra. All of S&J's advice on the Lives is free. You could buy one takeaway for the family, or you could pay for a lifetime of diet, exercise and mindset support.

It's a BIG lifestyle change if you go all out. But the brilliant thing is there are so many people who are going the exact same things, and the programme is adaptable to suit you. You learn so much about your body and what works. Any struggles have been experiences by S&J and many, many members, so there are so many people to turn to for advice and support. Lots of people (myself included) start and stop the programme a few times before it becomes habit and change. But there is no bad feeling and criticism on the group, just loads of support.

And the reason I have continued to comment on this thread is because I don't want any women to miss out on such a positive community just because of a few bitter people with a bad attitude.

The reason you only find bad reviews online is that the people signed up are too busy enjoying the programme, succeeding and talking to the other members, to go online and wrote reviews. BUT if you actually bother to look at the public FB and Instagram pages, you can see the transformations and people's testimonials about the programme.
