Recommend me some running trainers

Have been running 2 or 3 times a week since start of lockdown. Run around 7.5k each time, perhaps one slightly shorter run. Am also doing 3 sessions of HIIT a week where I will also wear the trainers.

Happy to spend around £100.

Brooks ghost. Like running on air. Although you really should get your gait analysed first to see if they would be right for you. I have wide feet and am slightly flat footed. You are probably more dainty.

Love my Brooks ghost and Brooks glycerin. I have a neutral gait. I road run 2 or 3 times a week between 5k and 12k. They are really well cushioned for road running.

I also have a pair of brooks ghosts and whilst they are lovely and light, I overpronate slightly and I can feel it in my right foot (the ghosts were fitted to me a few years ago when I had really built up my strength and my gait was more neutral than it is currently). Gait analysis is really important, and nigh on impossible right now. I’ve previously got on with the Mizuno wave system which is a good supportive shoe, so I’m going to give those a go. Not a short answer I’m afraid but it really does depend on the biomechanics of your gait

As PP’s have said it’s worth having a gait analysis done to get the right shoes. I’ve had ASICS the last few times as they seem to be the best for me.

You mentioned also using them for HIIT but it’s not always the best idea to use running shoes for other activities. I’ve had issues with my calf muscles for the last couple of years and eventually put it down to using running shoes for HIIT. I’ve got some Reebok CrossFit ones now that I wear for HIIT and weight training and the difference is amazing.

For running you need to do the gait analysis done. It's super quick and you'll get the right fit. You might throw money away otherwise.

If you are near Sheffield, Accelerate in Attercliffe are advising on running shoes on the phone /Zoom etc and doings local deliveries/click n collect.

Maybe get someone to slow motion video you running away from them? You may be able to send it to a shoe retailer
