Can anyone recommend a treadmill please

I miss running (well jogging I suppose). My dc is 2 1/2 and I’ve worked out that I’ve not done any running for well over 3 years!!! I used to run first thing in the morning before going to work but now I’m a single mum with no support so I can’t just go out for a run and I don’t fancy getting a running buggy. I have been thinking about getting a treadmill for quite some time now but not sure where to get a decent one from without it costing an arm and a leg. Is it possible to get a half decent one for £400?🤔 I could then get up before my dc wakes that way it’s a bit of me time which I could really do with. Anyone got one they can recommend?

Hi I have a Branx treadmill. I got the elite runner pro, which is more than twice your budget. My criteria was: longevity, comfort, quality and it had to be foldable (though I don't actually fold it between uses). My son runs on it about half hour every day and I walk on it. It has up to date cushioning technology (think of your knees!).
I believe with treadmills you get what you pay for. The ones at your price range always look too flimsy and lightweight. Branx does do less expensive models and they are a good brand, so check them out.

I have this one and I love it especially as it folds flat and doesn’t take up too much space, a bit more than your budget though www.sweatband.com/viavito-lunarun-fold-flat-treadmill.html

Thank you both for your comments, not sure my budget will stretch to a Branx but the sweatband looks good.

I’ve got a standard Reebok one which wasn’t too far over £400 although this was a few years ago now. It’s still standing me well for a daily 5k in lockdown and has been sturdy enough for my needs although I can advise that letting a big heavy man use it did once result in a large bang and a new belt motor. Thanks Ronnie27 I’ll the Reebok ones out. I’ve noticed a lot of treadmills appear to be out of stock at the moment though.

I've got a reebok one too. It's great. Got it second hand off gumtree just before lockdown.

Sakura03 · 17/05/2020 10:34

choc27 great! I’ll checkout my local gumtree.

Tpull be lucky to find one in lockdown, I've been looking for months.

OneNewName · 17/05/2020 14:42

Whoops - * you'll be lucky

Try JTX Fitness, DH is really happy with his from there, had it 3 years, runs at higher speeds than his previous treadmill. He uses the treadmill daily.

Thank you everyone, now if only I could find a supplier that has treadmills in stock... the earliest delivery I’ve found so far is 22nd July...

I have a dynamic one. It's perfect and I think a few hundred. Had it years now.
What about looking on FB marketplace, gumtree etc?

MrsPerfect12 · 18/05/2020 08:01

Amazon have some for £350 mark delivery mid June?

OneNewName · 18/05/2020 14:20

@SailingatSea where did you buy yours?

CathyorClaire · 18/05/2020 14:26

Another vote for Reebok.

I think I paid about £350 for mine a few years back and it's still going strong with pretty much daily use.

Lots of places are OOS now thanks to gyms closing but I reckon once they open again the market for second hand barely used machines will be awash.

Thighmageddon · 19/05/2020 12:05

I've got a Reebok one too. Next are delivering them but they're pricier than other stores.

Sakura03 · 20/05/2020 06:49

Thanks Thighmageddon I’ll have a look

I have a Branx folding treadmill on order from Amazon - it will be arriving in the first week of July. One of my friends has one and it is really good quality. I bought the one that costs £599.

Sakura03 · 23/05/2020 08:24

LilyRose88 I’ve got my eyes on that one too, just got to take the plunge and go for it I think😬

Hi how did you get on with this? I am wondering if any of the fold away ones for £300-400 are any good?

Sakura03 · 31/05/2020 10:48

Argos has got the Reebok Treadmills in stock again in my area, now I just need to decide on which one, Reebok ZR9 or the Jet 100🤔🤔🤔 anyone got one of them?

OP posts:
livingit38 · 31/05/2020 10:52

I have a reebok one got from here not sure what the price difference is with Argos though.
I would say it's really sturdy never had any problems with it
