Spin bike @ home

Can anybody recommend?

My DH has offered to get me a spin bike for my birthday, I have a limit of around £750, mainly because we are expecting a baby and therefore I cancelled my gym membership and I loved spinning.

I've seen loads of online classes that can be done, by I know I can't do them until I'm all healed after baby.

There are so many on the internet and reviews seem to be mixed/out dated so I thought I'd ask from experience.

Thanks!

Les Mills in demand about £10 a month. Can't help you with what bike to buy as my budget was a lot less but you get to join a closed Facebook group wiry other LMOD subscribers & they'd definitely tell you. You can join for a free trial to begin with so perhaps do that & have a look properly? Lots of other classes as well. Rpm and The Trip are slim classes. Full class is 45 mins but there are shorter ones which are great if you don't have much time. I was back to spin when ds was 2 months old but I used a gel seat on my bike for a while (on a bike at the gym). Good luck op xx

Could you get a normal bike and a trainer thing so that you can use it for a spin bike too?

Babyshine2020 · 10/05/2020 14:16

@SusieSusieSoo ah thanks! I'll check Facebook for a few ideas.

@MrsJamin I have a bike that I use when the weather is nice, and I've looked at those trainers you can get for the back wheels but it would mean us both moving our outdoor bikes ina and out the house every time we wanted to us it, and they're A LOT bigger than spin bikes so logistically it'd be a nightmare.

We have the space for a spin bike, but we couldn't bring the outdoor bikes in and leave them set up inside so I think setting them up a few times a week would be a big deterrent to not want to do a workout if you get me.

I bought a spin bike last year from this lot

www.uksportimports.com/fitness-equipment/exercise-bikes

I use it every day. I do spin classes on you tube. It lives in our utility room

Best money I ever spent, it's quiet and I can use is any time of day or night.

@Theyweretheworstoftimes the black and yellow one looks like what my gym had. An 18kg flywheel is impressive too at that price!

Thanks, I'll read into the reviews

I have one , £200 from decathalon . You must buy the gel seat 🤣 and get an iPad holder .

Personally I wouldn't get one unless you have the space to store it out of the way as it's a nuisance otherwise .

I bought it to see if I'd use it before buying a peloton

We have a separate hallway going to our bedroom (big enough for an armchair and table) so my plan is to put it there and I can set up an iPad system on the wall for classes and it'll be out of the way.

There are just 100s online!
