Anyone else loving LMOD?

Oh my god! I'm never going back to the gym! I've done body pump, combat step and RPM

I didn't really like my gyms les mills classes as they didn't really explain the moves but on the app the workouts are done by the crazy fit instructors. I love it! Did a workout before my night shift and now on my 5 mins sit down I'm starting to feel it! I burnt 897 calories in an hour earlier. I'm honestly so proud of myself.

Anyone else loving Les Mills on demand? :)

Yep, me Grin I did combat and pump at the gym and didn't think I'd be motivated enough to get much of a workout at home but I'm getting well into it. I'm doing mostly combat but have done some grit cardio and athletic and cxworx. I've ordered the LM bar and should get it at the end of the month.

@nbee84 aaah I'm so jealous!! I decided to get one too late. It's out of stock Sad

Last Friday I spotted a used section while I was looking around the LM website. Not sure if was recently added or had been there before and I hadn't spotted it. I didn't order then as even used they are so expensive. I looked around for a cheaper set but nothing is in stock anywhere so when I checked on Saturday evening and they still had stock I thought buggar it and ordered them - trying to justify it to myself by not having gym fees at the mo and not really spending any other money on anything either. Still haven't told dh though and probably won't tell him the true price Grin
I could really have done with buying extra weights as I usually do 25kg for squats but couldn't bring myself to spend any more.

I wanted to do BodyPump at home, but left it too late and couldn't get the Les Mill weights (or any weights) etc.

And now it's probably too late as I feel the momentum has been lost... Grin

CrymbleCrumble · 19/04/2020 12:19

@chatwoo you can do it without equipment :)

@nbee84 Shock the used section has stock still!

@nbee84 have you tried eBay
For weights?

I have used it for years alongside classes at the gym but it’s really coming into its own now! It’s better if you can get hold of the equipment though so keep trying!

HelloTerrance · 19/04/2020 16:19

I have started doing the free online content, body combat because I did that anyway in the gym and Grit so far.

How do you do body pump without weights. Do you use something else?

CrymbleCrumble · 19/04/2020 19:32

@HelloTerrance cans, tins, jars or just tense your arms.

Could you use dumbells and pretend they are a car bell? I might give body pump a go tomorrow.

One good thing, I can try out all the classes and organise my class schedule better when I get back in the gym.

CrymbleCrumble · 19/04/2020 20:10

Yeah that's what I'm doing :)

Crymble - anything exercise related seems to be going for silly money on ebay. Used smart bars are going for higher price than new ones as people can't get them elsewhere. Seeing as I've only been doing bodyweight for the last month I should think the weights it comes with will do. It's only squats that I would need it heavier for. I'm already dreading the doms Grin

CarmenSanDiego2020 · 19/04/2020 21:20

Started using it a few weeks ago as well. Mainly BP and RPM.
Had been using a PT twice a week before lockdown but actually think I might stick with LMOD now.
Luckily for me my husband has plenty equipment in the garage. Never understood the appeal of homf workouts till now!

evilharpy · 20/04/2020 10:06

I've been using LMOD for a few years now. It's brilliant, so much variety and there's a real feel of being in an actual class (unlike lots of the competition, or youtube videos). I especially like the bike-based workouts.

I have a spin bike, set of weights for pump, and a step which allows me to do all the different programmes.

DeadBod · 20/04/2020 10:15

I've been doing a class every day and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I mainly do body pump and combat. I haven't got a variety of weights so use the same set of 2.5kg dumb bells for everything, they're not my regular gym class weight but I suppose anything is better than nothing.

Greenteandchives · 20/04/2020 10:19

Hi. I do a lot of LM at my gym, and am grateful for the free 2 month trial I have at the moment. I bought a step a few weeks ago, so I am doing Bodystep, Balance etc on the days I used to do them. It’s not the same as being at the gym and I miss my friends, but I feel that I am doing something.
Instructors have also put classes online. Some free, some pay for.

BadSmellsHelp101 · 14/06/2020 15:44

Hi everyone,
Love the LMOD at the moment...
Which gyms do LM out of curiosity? Just thinking ahead for now Grin

Washinginthetimeofcovid · 14/06/2020 19:00

I am loving it. Bought a set of barbells on amazon.

Not sure I'll go back to classes now. It's bloody great.
