Anyone else going crazy without training?

My main sport is swimming. I do a LOT of it. I also cycle a LOT and run. Over the years these disciplines have kept me from being totally mentally deranged and recently I've found my mental heath has never been better. AND THEN LOCKDOWN HAPPENED. I can't do many of these online workouts as they rely on lots of exercises that I can't do due to joint and muscle pain (due to my over training probably!)and also I have a metal plate in my wrist which makes many exercises painful. I use up my daily exercise taking my kids out on their bikes. Even if I wanted to go out alone, I can't as then I would have to leave kids on their own. Anyone else feeling the same pain??

I do lifting and boxing with my trainer at the gym and managed to pack on 12lbs of muscle in the past year. I'm sure I can feel all those muscle gains slowly melting away as I make do with my 10lb weights in my flat Sad.

@allfurcoatnoknickers just the worst feeling!!!! Are you managing to purchase proteins? That could help??

@Latteaday123 I'm luckily able to eat a high protein/low carb diet, which is def helping, but I just feel so sluggish Sad

If your joints are ok for running, they should be ok for skipping... can you get a skipping rope? That will keep your cardio fitness up

Both me and DH are using our daily exercise to get the kids out on their bikes whilst we have a walk (they're only 4 and 6). Then in an evening we're both going on the turbo trainer (his is a smart trainer and he has a subscription to Zwift) so he enjoys group rides and is also doing one of the training plans. I'm a runner really, so go on the treadmill but do a bit on the turbo as well, as I'd started to get shin splints from running 7 days a week, so the bike is a nice way to cross train. It's frustrating not being able to get out to run, but indoor training is keeping me sane at least.
