What are swimmers doing now?

I usually swim a few times a week, plus weekly netball and sometimes a yoga class. I'm now doing a walk with my kids on bikes, Adrienne's Home yoga and vegetating. I'm working and homeschooling, so don't want to overdo it, but need something for the arms. Any ideas fellow frustrated swimmers?

wallowing in self pity

My back up would be kayaking, but the canal trust type people said not to do that, either. There must be youtube workouts you could find for upper body. Teen DD dug out her big brother's bar-bells and is using them in a home-work out today. I dread home-work out videos. I am actually running/cycling/walking, but upper body, all I can do is a bit of gardening.

Thanks @lljkk I probably should get out the weights. There's something about the breathing in swimming that sets me up for the day - I was hoping there was a home version I hadn't thought of. Weights and you tube it is then!

DS is a swimmer, he is cycling and doing lots of resistance tube swimming exercises following you tube videos. He is also 9 so playing lots of xbox and eating lots of chocolate.

I'm also eating loads of chocolate, not been on the Xbox though. Did some weights yesterday morning, was shattered by mid afternoon! I'll keep it up twice a week unless we are banned from walking, in which case I'll have to start some indoor cardio. I hate getting all sweaty, that's why I swim!

Would something like Pilates work for you as part of the mix? Working with the breath is part of it, you probably won't get sweaty and some of it can be load bearing on the upper body.

I'm swimming in the sea. But I recognise I'm really really lucky to be able to. If tougher rules stop me going in the sea I don't know what I'll do.

You need one of these (if you have £20k to spare)!

DD is a competitive swimmer, I got her a winter wetsuit and we walk to the beach and she swims in the sea and I walk alongside her on the shore.

Thanks fyall the responses. Unfortunately the sea isn't possible for me, I live about as inland as you can get on the British Isles. I used to do wild swimming but it isn't allowed at the moment!
I tried Pilates once so long ago it was on VHS - thanks for the suggestion @ErrolTheDragon. It may be time to give it a second chance!
