Core strength from nothing....

I'm not a total couch potato (but not far off it - I can swim 1.5km, and run 4km).
Attempted a class today. I have absolutely no ability to do leg raises.
I guess I need to work on core strength. Just attempted some stuff at home.
Plank - count of 12
Sit ups -12
Alternating situps -12 pairs
Single leg raise- 12 each side- this was fine
Scissor leg raises- 6 this was tough.
I couldn't do a single double leg raise with legs straight.
With knees bent I could lift both legs, but had to put my feet back on the floor and rest after each one.

If I keep with the above, increasing numbers every couple of days, will I build the ability to do the double leg raise? Or do I need to add in something else as well? If so, what?

Cheers

Yes, you will improve. If you can add 15 minutes of yoga three times a week (I use the Down Dog App) then that might help too. Remember, whatever your plan you need FITT - every few weeks change the Frequency Intensity Type or Time of the exercise you are doing to keep making gains.
