Flipping weather ruining my buzz again! (Lighthearted-ish)

I'm hoping there will be some like-minded souls on here who can understand my frustration! I go to the gym 4/5 mornings in the week before work (wake at 4.45am in the gym by 5.15am ) and although I love the gym work I relish being out on my road bike for 20-30 miles either or both days at the weekend. BUT I do like to wake naturally on these days so don't often get out for my trundle until 9-10am

This week has been particularly shitty at work and I was really looking forward to a good ride on Saturday to blow it away before the wind and rain hit but now the wind and rain is going to hit my area earlier than expected so I can't get out after all Sad . Normally I would just shrug and get on with it but today its really annoyed me!

Please tell me I'm not alone in this frustration!!

My hubby is the same. Breaks up for half term and was going to go for a ride but the weather looks shocking. I imagine he’ll be zwifting indoors instead!

Not alone, no. I’m not a cyclist but I like running in the woods... but not when there’s a risk of a tree falling on my head! And based on my one trip to the woods lately (on Wednesday, when the wind dropped) that chance was very real - trees down everywhere from Ciara and some extremely alarming creaks from ones that I reckon will go this weekend.

Running in the woods is my time to not be Mummy and I really miss it. I can go on the footpaths close to home but it’s still dodgy if it’s windy enough (a big tree broke right in half last weekend and landed on the path Shock) and it’s not as nice, there are loads of molehills everywhere and it’s just more of a slog. Plus there is no coffee shop, so instead of meeting up with a happy DH and DS for coffee I come home to a grumpy pair instead, and end up feeling guilty about going out at all Sad

I would really like the wind to drop soon, I don’t like it at all!

So glad I'm not alone!! I'm usually resigned to not getting much cycling in between November and March but this week has been so stressful I just wanted to get out in the fresh air and blow some stress away through the pedals. Hoping I can find somewhere to go for a brisk walk instead without the risk, like @Spudlet of falling branches!!

It's the mud for me. Incessant mud for month after month. I normally trail run and go cross country, but I've barely attempted it since the early autumn as it's been such a quagmire since Sept/ Oct. I've had to do much more road running and driving to different start points to mix it up.

My hall is filled with trainers of varying states of mud and drying. Even just doing the school run, there are now streams semi-permanently across the pavement, then storms like last weekends wash a fresh load of mud and debris over them.

I need sunshine to just dry it all out and get my vitamin D going again.
