Anyone doing the Great North Run?

I'm doing it this year, it'll be my first one! I've done a few half marathons but never this one. Quite excited now as lots of people have said it's a brilliant atmosphere, so it should be good especially as it's the 40th one this year. Anyone else doing it?

I didn't get a place, unfortunately, but I've done it a few times before. The atmosphere is incredible. Nothing like any other half I've done. In terms of runner numbers, it's bigger than the London marathon, so that'll be why!
With that, though, comes logistical issues. Prepare for lots of queuing. And it's much easier to stay in South Shields than to try and get back to Newcastle after the race. That said, I love it nontheless
