Waist slimming exercise at home

What is the best waist slimming exercise I can do at home? I've lost a load of weight but my waist measurement is exactly the same. Confused
I can't get to a gym to do proper weights. I've been hula-hooping every day and that hasn't helped. I'm considering 30 Day Shred, unless anyone has a better suggestion?

Hi, sorry I have only just seen this! Didn't want to leave you with no replies. I would highly recommend Callanetics. You can get the book or videos from Amazon. Very old school 80's exercise routine but absolutely amazing for whipping you into shape very fast, and there's a 'waist whittler' exercise which really will reduce your waist measurement if done regularly.
It's not the most enthralling routine as it's super slow and uses tiny pulsing movements to work the muscles, but it's really worth it - it's the only exercise I've ever done where my partner has commented on my changed body shape (slimmer waist, lifted glutes) within just a few days. Now I just need to knuckle down and do more of it!

PS well done on losing all the weight!

You can’t spot reduce. All over body work will help, but maybe focus on abdominal work that trains the obliques. So do spinal roll ups and then reach across diagonally. Think of sliding ribs to pelvis (rather than joining up your shoulders) and navel to backbone, then turn your shoulder girdle - so your right elbow reaches for your left knee and vice versa. Or diagonal bicycles and the like.

Hoiking up your shoulders not joining them!

Standing abs workouts. They pull you up tall and support your core.

30 day shred is good. Should define your abs and you may lose some inches if you stick with it. Great for toning all over too.

You can't aim to reduce fat from a specific area. If you have lost weight from all over but still have excess weight in your waist it just means that that's the first and last place your body stores excess fat. Ie, the first place you gain it and the last place you'll shift it from. You can build up the muscles in this region, and you should, there is a reason the muscles in this area of the body are called 'the core.' They are your body's foundation and a weak core will have a negative impact all over.

But building up your core won't get rid of any excess fat, so won't shrink your waist. In fact, you might even get a little bigger as the muscle grows. What you want is to focus on reconditioning. Building the muscle while reducing any excess fat. Exercise is necessary to strengthen your core muscles, while diet is necessary to reduce the fat. A protein rich diet, with little to no processed sugar (including alcohol) and limited simple carbs, will allow you to lose the weight you don't want while letting your body build the muscle you do.
