Lost motivation for running

I have run on and off for years but been pretty full time with it again for the last 6 months and really enjoyed it, but the last 2/3 weeks my motivation has disappeared completely and I just don't want to do it at all. Any advice to help me get my mojo back?

Accept a break, drop the guilt and promise no running for about a week so that you want to run again, not feel that you should.

Plan something easily managable. The goal is purely to get out. Pick a route you like or something like parkrun.

Set a goal like a race to give runs a purpose.

I've had many a lull over the last few years. My last was in December at the end of a really good year. Got a cold just after my final race and felt empty and demotivated for weeks, plus life was busy with other distractions. I got going again over Christmas and now ploughing through RED January and HM training.

I’m the same. I’m running a half-marathon in March and my heart’s just not into the training, despite having been a keen runner for years. For me it’s not the running itself, it’s what’s going on in my brain. I always seem to be checking my watch to see how far I’ve gone, and no matter what music or podcast I listen to it’s not enough to hold my attention and I just feel a bit bored by the whole thing!
