Martial Arts

Anyone do martial arts as their main form of exercise? I restarted back after an 8 year break a little over a year ago, and have just upped to 2 classes.

How many classes do you do and did it change your phyquice much? I'm a healthy weight but my stamina and flexibility could be better, and I'm spongy.

Would doing stretching at home really help me to Improve? I'm short on time and generally too tired in the week from early mornings and work.

My friend does! She reports feeling stronger.

I think with any sport, a bit of cross training is healthy. How about some Pilates or yoga? There’s plenty of stuff online if you don’t have time for a class.

My friend does 2/3 sessions a week - and loves it!!

I do martial arts 6 - 7 times a week. It doesn't seem to give anyone a honed gym type body, although it's great cardio and lots of core exercises so I'm not sure why.

Yes. But mostly for the mental benefits, coordination etc. I already do other sports. I’m proper sweating after a session but I don’t think it’s changed my body drastically.

I do about 3 hours a week. Plus lots of stretching at home.

I'd have thought a bit of strength training would help?
