Running and hunger

For the first time in forever, I haven't run for two days in a row. And today I noticed something odd - I'm not hungry and, as a result, I genuinely forgot to eat. All I've eaten all day is a few mints, and I don't fancy any dinner. I mean, I will eat something, but only because I know I should, not because I'm hungry.

Have any other runners had this? I know runger is definitely a thing, and when I'm marathon training I'm pretty much ravenous all the time. But I've never experienced zero hunger when not running before. Before I was a runner, I'd have been ravenous by 9am if I hadn't eaten, let alone gone 6pm.

Wondering if running so much has changed my metabolism - perhaps my body now accepts the running as "normal" and thus my metabolism slows right down if I don't run?
Thoughts??

Deffo.
Not just running linked. I swim & cycle & other things, too.
Basically, if I don't exercise, I don't get hungry. I end up shoving food around on the plate. Also lately, I find it hard to eat anything in the day unless I have already been for a run/swim/cycle.

I think I first really noticed this the summer I was 38yo & had 3 little kids at home (nursery holidays). We barely went out so I lost my appetite coz we were doing so little. Yet I lost no weight.

I get impression from MN threads that this is unusual. That other people always want to eat regardless of their activity levels. I have a plump friend who says the only thing that stops her eating is if she is emotionally miserable about something. I don't relate. I only want to eat if I'll enjoy it & I don't enjoy food if I'm not feeling hungry.. but I need to be active to get hungry. Taste or social cues just don't make me hungry.

I'm the same. I run most days and as my body is so used to this level of activity, I not only have no appetite when I don't run, I also get very restless. (And grumpy).

I generally eat to appetite, so I wouldn't naturally eat unless I was hungry.

I'm a swimmer not a runner but notice the same.
