I toy with getting one. For converts tell me the good things and the irritating bits! Should I get one?

I have the Charge 3 and like it.

It reminds me to shift my arse and I like stats so it's useful for watching step numbers. For some odd reason I also like that it tells me when I get a text or call on my phone.

I think I prefer my Samsung etch, but I worry that'll get damaged, plus it's quite big and gets in the way of coat sleeves and gloves (I'm outside a lot).

what do you want it to do for you, OP?
I like mine for the sleep log (much) more than anything else it does.

I've had fitbits for a few years - currently the Charge 2. Best features for me are the sleep log (when asked how I slept I like to give a score Smile) and the call/text notifications from my iPhone. The steps and stairs helps me keep an eye on my tendency to sit on my backside. I find the heart rate less useful - feeds into a mild health anxiety if I'm not careful ( ridiculous worries eg that my daily average HR is 67 from an average of 63Hmm)

I think it just reminds me to do healthy things like sleep and exercise in a way that plays to my inner geek

I mostly like it to see how many calories i burn in a day or workout. Good for swimming and counting lengths and times. I have the new versa

WhoWants2Know · 01/01/2020 10:40

I have an older one that just does steps and sleep tracking, but I find it very useful and it does remind me to keep moving.

Don't get the versa lite I have had no end of trouble with it. My doesn't work at all at the min!

Was a game changer for me. I got my 1st one in 2015. I was a fairly active person (work with small children) but did no formal exercise at all. I'd just lost 3 stone with slimming world and wanted to keep the weight off. I started walking a lot more and joined a challenge to walk 2015 miles in 2015. I also did some of the friendly challenges you can do through the app - workweek hustle, weekend warrior. It brought out the competitive side to me and I liked to be at the top or near the top of the leaderboard Smile Once I'd worked up to walking 4 miles or so in one go I started getting upper back ache as I was very round shouldered. Someone recommended pilates which I did at the local leisure centre which really helped. After the pilates class was a body conditioning class and as I was feeling fitter from the walking I thought I'd give it a go. This then led to trying out all the other classes they offered from Zumba, to bodypump, to spin. I was bitten by the fitness bug and now exercise 6 days a week and am fitter than I've ever been. All this from a little gadget worn around my wrist Grin

I found mine quite helpful for showing how few calories what felt like loads of extra walking burned up and realising it was was much easier to not eat eg that couple of biscuits in the first place than burn them off

I love my Fitbit Ionic.

I can wear it swimming and it counts lengths, distance, time, pace etc.
It measures my sleep, resting heart rate, links with my fitness pal.

Incidentally, does anyone else’s resting heart rate go up at certain points in their menstrual cycle?
