Earphone headbands

Has anyone used these? I've looked on Amazon and lots of great reviews but then some very bad ones. I'd believe the bad ones (sore, burn marks, etc) before I'd believe the good ones as I read before that people make a living doing fake positive reviews.

My ears are very small and I have never found buds that fit. Seriously overweight and unfit and started couch to 5k this evening so would like something to be able to distract me while jogging

I don't know which ones you mean but I love my Trekz titanium conducting ear phones. They sit above rather than on or on my ear so don't fall out and I can still hear what's going on around me.

Good luck with your c25k plan, it's a good one.

Good luck with C25k!

Aftershokz earphones go over your ear (they’re bone conductors rather than traditional earphones) so they enable you to hear what is going on around you. I haven’t used mine yet as I only got them yesterday but from a safety point of view they’re very good and lots of people at my running club rate them.

They’re not cheap though, so depends what your budget is. They did a bogof deal for Black Friday though, so may be quite a few of the ‘free’ pairs available on eBay cheaper.

Sorry I should have included a picture. I did read about those conducting ones but very expensive

I had one of those headband ones. They were ok but not great. I found it hard to keep the little speaker from shifting around as I was moving. Then they stopped working after a couple of months. Instead of go for a pair that hook over your ear and a separate fleece headband or similar to put over then.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 26/12/2019 20:01

Earbuds don't fit my ears either.

So I use sport earphones which are (a) sweat proof and (b) have overeat hooks which hold them nice and snug. Like the example pic. You can also get wireless versions now too.

I sometimes wear an old style towelling headband as well, save knocking them wiping sweat!

I am in no way shape or form a resident of the exercise forum - but I've had a couple of pairs of the earphone headbands that I use for podcast listening when going off to sleep and they work well. Just read the reviews carefully as one type have really sticky out earphone sections that make you look like a right plonker escapee from the teletubbies if you wear them, but others have fairly flat earphone discs in the headband that avoid the square headed effect.

First pair of mine lasted 6 months or so before one earphone stopped working - current pair I've had a good few months - they're only cheapies really but they do the job.

@kuponut do you have link to ones you have or know which brand?

@BuzzShitbagBobbly I've tried those type before and they just don't fit me! Very small ears and that just fall right out

I was failing to describe what Buzz so helpfully posted as a picture! Great minds 😉

@MotherForkinShirtBalls I think that might be a good solution for the moment until I get in to it a bit more
