Weaker side of body

Prompted by a thread about getting up off the floor...!

I was wondering if anyone's done work on their weaker side, and does anyone do higher reps etc on the weaker side?

Do things even out if you work on it? Are there better ways to work on it? I think my left leg is definitely weaker than my right. When I get off the floor, all my focus is one side.

What would happen about core work?

Thanks for any answers.

I always start on my weaker side (left) and do the same number of reps on my right side.

Thanks Simon

So no extra reps?

I was wondering if any particular exercises are good for this, kind of balancing out things.

I've known some instructors favour starting on the weak side, moving to the stronger then some additional work on the weak side after the rest.

Core is good generally. Weaknesses in the core can often contribute to imbalances elsewhere.

Depends how much weaker. Recovering from injury etc you may well be encouraged to focus on the recovering side

Sounds good. I'm going to be going to Pilates again so hopefully that will help.

Just to add, this started as I wanted to improve at the "sit to rise" test, but the only videos I can find on YouTube that are meant to help, are incredibly long and waffly.

I did note one of them said that adults lose the ability to do this because we don't do it often.

I guess really I'd like some functional exercises that will help with agility and flexibility and balance on both sides. I'd be really interested to hear if anyone has any tips or recommended exercises. Thank you.
