Running in rain gear

Any recommendations for making running in rain a little less of an endurance?!

I think I need a cap in particular. Anyone got suggestion for small head sized waterproof running cap ie light

Thanks

My DH runs marathons and just wears a baseball cap for running. It gets but the important part is keeping his eyes clear of rain.

I have caps from Ronhill and RunMummyRun; I don't think they're actually waterproof but they keep the rain off my face & glasses and my head feels drier.
You can get waterproof running jackets but they can make you feel quite warm. The best ones that are actually breathable are pretty expensive, ones like Innov8 stormshell or Omm jackets. Otherwise in the winter layers are good and I often wear a gilet on wetter days. You can get water resistant gilets and jackets that are a bit more breathable for lower prices. sportsshoes.com is a good website to look on for discounts.

Being wet is ok when you're warm, it's being cold and getting wet that's the unpleasant bit.

Warm-up indoors with a short youtube video (I love my trampette for this)

A cap with a peak, it's the peak that keeps it out of your face that really helps (I have a light Ron Hill)
A showerproof jacket. At the lower end of the market and not out for hours in the wilds, you don't need fully waterproof (which gets sweaty anyway). I like my light gilet for keeping the wind off my body, but letting my arms ventilate.
Layer up to manage temperature.

Decathlon is great for good value, decent quality kit, particularly for winter.
