I think it helped my weight loss. Just doing the c2k programme by itself won't but if you keep running afterwards and start doing shorter faster runs and longer ones too ( so running 3-4 time a week total of 20+ miles) PLUS spend some time using my fitnesspal to monitor your intake it will do it.
As others have said it's really hard to out runs crappy diet but once I got into running I found I was eating less crap, spending less time "bored eating", probably as my mood was better and wanted to look after myself more.
I started c2k 18 months ago and have gone from a size 14 struggling to do the minute interval in week one, do a size 8 running half marathons for fun!

Dh has been training for triathlons for 18 months. He has lost a stone but he lost nothing for the first 6 months, in fact put weight on

I am doing it right now and I see a difference. I am on week 6. I find when I workout I'm a lot less tempted to eat crap. So even if it not the running thats making me lose weight it definitely helps. I find I cannot eat healthy without the exercise.

No. I lost 1lb doing couch25k.
I am a bit more toned - I now run 4-5k 2 or 3 times a week but I haven’t actually lost any weight.

Unfortunately exercise doesn't really make you lose much weight! It's very good for you though! You'll need to eat less to actually lose the weight - sorry!
