Swimming with a vagina

So I went swimming the other day. And please excuse the tmi but I seemed to gather water in my va-jingo.

Doing breast stroke and I didn't notice at the time until I got out of the pool and it felt like my waters had broken again.

Luckily it wasn't noticeable as water was running off me as I got out of the pool. But it's pretty gross. I think??

I have never noticed this! I suppose it stands to reason that it could happen though.

I bet my pelvic floor muscles aren’t strong enough to hold it all in until the moment of whoosh...

strawberrypenguin · 15/08/2019 23:00

Yep. Happens to me too

Catworrier · 16/08/2019 07:09

I never get it in the bath. It's although the breaststroke pulls water in when I move my legs, never happened before birth. And I honestly thought I was the only one.

So that's reassuring but now I'm totally grossed out by the amount of fanny pool water there is!!!!!

@RonnieScotts exactly my thought!!! It's totally gross!!

Cwenthryth · 16/08/2019 07:17

Considerably less gross (IMHO) than all the poo and sweat particles floating around in the pool because very few people shower properly before getting in, at best a few seconds splash when already in your swimmies.

Just to put it into context and we don’t all fall into the eww vaginas are gross stereotype!

alliejay81 · 16/08/2019 07:38

Only happens to me when doing fast(ish) breaststroke.

In response to all the hygiene complaints, this is why the pool is chlorinated?

alliejay81 · 16/08/2019 07:39

Not specifically for fanny water, but all the other things too!

Ticklemeelmo · 16/08/2019 08:20

gross. Never had this happen, currently pregnant with my first and swim a lot so hope this doesn't happen after- swimming pool hygiene makes me feel a bit queasy at the best of times

SayNoToCarrots · 16/08/2019 08:22

I'm an adult with two vaginally birthed children and I would be as surprised as the OP if this ever happened to me.

Catworrier · 16/08/2019 09:05

@SayNoToCarrots
Amen sister!!!
Freaked the hell out of me!!

WanderingTrolley1 · 16/08/2019 09:12

Happens to me since having 3rd child.

owlonabike · 16/08/2019 09:28

Well , thanks for all this, people. Just got back from swimming and am eating breakfast. Well, I was...

georgialondon · 16/08/2019 11:37

I never even dreamed this was a thing!

RedCowboyBoots · 16/08/2019 11:49

That's your own lookout. If the thread has 'vagina' in the title, maybe don't read it while eating if you're squeamish?

RasberryR0ulade · 16/08/2019 12:01

Headline made me laugh
responses making me laugh
( mum of 2, 1 c sec/1 vaginal )
cheers Smile Grin Wink

ODFOx · 16/08/2019 12:04

Sorry OP as I'm not going to answer your question but the phrasing of the title made me chortle.
Does a vagina swim alongside you pulsing like a big squid?

littleblueorchid · 16/08/2019 12:21

I've had 3 vaginal births and ignorance was bliss...I am now never going to swim and therefore afflict my vageegee swishing or whatever it's called on anyone, ever again!! Shock

owlonabike · 16/08/2019 16:39

Not bothered about the vagina reference, just the reminder re bodily fluids!

awsomeDean · 16/08/2019 17:48

What ever you do avoid flumes!

TinyMystery · 16/08/2019 17:50

I always get this after a bath (good old afterbath) and have ever since I can remember but rarely after swimming now I think about it! I do mostly swim crawl though.

PixieLumos · 16/08/2019 17:52

This used to happen to me very rarely after a bath - since having a DCs every time! Not after swimming though funnily enough.

Proseccoinamug · 20/08/2019 23:16

Blimey, who knew! I’ve had four dc, been on flumes many a time, bath daily...and this is a new one on me!

AfterSchoolWorry · 20/08/2019 23:21

Surely that can't be good for the PH levels in your vagina!?! Swimming pool water has bleach as baths have soaps etc!?

pooboobsleeprepeat · 20/08/2019 23:32

Well that’s put me off swimming for life! Who knew I’d been swimming in other people’s fanny gushings all this time!
