Hi, how long do you think it would take to tone my flabby belly? Say if I did plank for a minute every day and another 10 mins of yogary type stomach exercises?

I eat well, and I’m trying to drink more water and despite being slim and reasonably toned everywhere else, I’ve always had this soft belly 😩

Was out all day with my sister didn’t speak to him or say anything he then texts me accusing me of being on a date. I get home door won’t let me in think he’s put key in the door light is on upstairs I’m certain so ring door bell walk round back the gates shut and back door locked was open when I left so he’s been home since I’m sure. Go round front ring him and phones now off door opens as normal I look round house it’s empty and bedroom light is off so confused

Surely this is a gloat post? OP you can’t honestly think your tummy needs work?! You look fab which I’m sure you already know, feel for the 100+plus mums who have opened this and gone wtaf and proceeded to feel shit about themselves all day ☹️

tigerbear · 07/08/2019 12:06

@BubblesBubbly thank you.
I went to see the PT for the first time yesterday. I went to someone I used to see, but hadn’t been for about 5 weeks.
He was not pleased with me, to say the least! I’ve put on since I last saw him, so am now 9st 6. He was really horrified 😬
So it’s game on! How are you doing?

@Whatusernamecanihave - I really don’t think OP is trying to gloat. If she’s not happy with how she looks, that’s up to her. There are no rules on it. In your opinion, how big does someone need to be to be ‘allowed’ to post about it?? In some people’s eyes, they think I’m tiny. I’m not. I’ve gone from 8 stone 4 years ago, to 9st 6, and if I posted a pic of my tummy, some people might think it’s small, but to me it’s massive.
Same for the OP. It’s all relative.

I’m too scared to post a picture on here but can anyone give me advice? I’ve been working really hard the last few months and am happy with my weight and body tone. However I would love to get a bit more definition in my stomach. Is that achievable without losing more weight? I feel like I’d be too skinny (for me) if I lost more. If I did more ab exercises (currently I only do a few planks a day) would this help or is it always diet related?

Youngandfree · 08/08/2019 11:44

@tigerbear you are with the wrong kind of personal trainer if they are focusing on your weight!! Truthfully it has nothing to do with “weight” it’s to do with muscle mass and measurements. You can be fitter, slimmer and weigh more due to muscle!!

BubblesBubbly · 08/08/2019 18:16

Ooh @tigerbear I bet that was nerve wracking going back to the same pt 😬.... Did the 1st session go okay? What did they do with you?

I haven’t got time for a pt 😩 But I went for a run yesterday, 3rd run in a month, which is a good effort for me!! I’ve been doing stomach exercises every other day and arm exercises too. But I’m not strict or regular enough. I’m blaming the summer holidays!

BubblesBubbly · 08/08/2019 18:17

Yeah @Youngandfree that makes sense

I’m not sure @Oilyskinproblems except I’m now thinking mine is excess stretched skin from having 2 babies?! And that nothing will get rid of it!

I would really recommend reformer pilates if you can find someone close to you. It's harder than mat work and gave me absolutely rock hard abs. So hard in fact that the consultant remarked that she couldn't fight then when trying to turn breech Ds1 during ECV.
10 months post DS2 it's a different story but it was nice while it lasted!!

tigerbear · 08/08/2019 19:31

@BubblesBubbly that’s great that you’ve been running and doing the stomach exercises, but if you’re not doing it religiously/pushing yourself, how about getting a PT for the time you would usually spend doing the exercises/running?

It was nerve wracking going back to mine. He made me do lunges, weights, throwing the weighted ball, hill climbing, running. My legs are killing me today!! Tried to do the first 30 Day Shred this morn, but only managed half 😬

@Youngandfree he doesn’t normally focus on weight at all, in fact during the last few months he was saying he wants me to focus on muscle and toning.
I think he was just shocked when he saw me for the first time in over a month, as the weight gain is very noticeable, and I do need to lose it, there’s no doubt about that.

Oilyskinproblems · 08/08/2019 19:35

Bubbles your skin looks great in the picture!

I had to go to a physio to correct after dc2 (completely corrected and safe to exercise now) and she recommended Pilates for toning. I’m definitely going to try to find some - don’t have time for classes though.

BubblesBubbly · 09/08/2019 06:14

Ooh fab @mooglycrunch

My friend in the village does pilates but unlikely the one you’re suggesting. Her abs are solid though

I think you actually have some good tone in your tummy. The on,y way to get visible abs is to lose body fat. It's not something everyone can achieve. I once went down to 17% body fat ( not healthy) and was only just getting there. I now sit at around a more sustainable 20% bf. it's not worth it to me. What would you like your abs to look like. Do you have a goal in mind? I think you look great
