Exercise in the heat

Just did my usual HIIT routine - I do it 4 times a week - and it killed me! I’ve only ever sweat like that in a sauna before and everything felt 10 x harder. Does anyone know if there are any benefits to working out in the heat? Just to try to motivate me through it? I found it so hard to keep going. Any tips on how to keep cool? I think it’s going to be like this all week.

I find that if I can keep going when hot (even if it is for shorter and less intensive sessions), then I really see the difference in the autumn

But do go steady - do not overdo it in the heat, and drink plenty. I sometimes drink the (expensive) electrolyte sachets, which I usually have only for longer runs, when I am very sweaty.

No help im afraid, ive abandoned exercise this week!
I feel completley lethargic so hoping tomorrow is cooler and I can get a class in.......im in awe that you've powered through..well done 😊

Early morning or late evening if you can. Or put a fan on while exercising if you have one. Electrolyte drink can be good if you're sweating loads more than usual, and remember to eat so you don't run out of energy generally (I sometimes don't feel like it in hot weather).

I find I adapt to the heat after a couple of hot workouts, either in heatwave or while travelling, so it should get easier (something to look forward to). Do stop if you start feeling ill/dizzy though.

Just making myself. If i stop for just one week I know it'll be so hard to get back into.

The cold shower afterwards is amazing!
