Hello! I would like to propose a place to post ones good intentions with regard to weight loss and exercise to help with achieving this. The aim would be only to offer positive encouragement and kind support rather than judgement. Anyone like to join me?

Well, I went clothes shopping today and was really shocked at how overweight I am. So I am going to start off with 5:2 this week and will really undertake to run every day (couch to 5K) and additionally do another sport every day... so swimming, yoga or bootcamp. Fingers crossed I can really start to tackle this properly!

oh dear.... I can see I need to try harder!!! I wonder how other people manage this... praps if I laid out piles of fruit and veg to snack on!!

Hi Petal,

A forum for the two linked would be bad because people exercise for reasons entirely unrelated to weightloss so that can be annoying because of all the stereotypes it perpetrates. Plus the diet for some activities like marathons, would be very different to those dieting for weight reasons. And it risks problems for people with eating disorders. Thats why its been widely advocated to keep exercise as a separate section.

If you mean a thread that would be good. I would suggest you ask a moderator to move this thread into the weightloss section which is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat

While most of the title threads are about weight loss inside a lot of threads they post about their daily food intakes, and exercise activity. You might find moving it to the weightloss section will get you more activity. Also I hope you are getting on well. :)

My intentions for today are to do second day of couch to 5k and to eat reasonably. ( the second may sound fishy washy. But it really isn't).

My weight has crept back up a bit so I’m starting a food diary again on Monday. I know, I know, it should be today really...

So, did day 2 and 3 of couch to 5k and now I'm going to have to watch I don't go mad eating tonight. I'm hungry to be honest. I've got work to do so I'll try and concentrate on that and not focus on eating.
