Putting on weight re exercise

Been doing NHS couch to 5K in 9 weeks. Been doing it for 3 months after this time last year being a graduate and running up to 50 minutes. I had lost about a half stone doing the running but put weight on again after lapsing. However this time I’m putting on weight. What am I doing wrong?

If you're anything like me then you're eating more because "you've been for a run and deserve it" and unfortunately, the minimal number of extra calories you've burnt whilst running is far exceeded by the number of calories in the treat you've decided you deserve!!!

if you are someone who is disciplined and controlled in their eating (unlike me!) I apologise for generalising!

You're probably not dong anything wrong. Indeed by taking regular exercise, you are doing something that is very right in itself.

Weight control is vastly more about eating than activity levels. What has your diet been like over the same time? It might be worth posting in the weight loss section if that's a particular concern.

I hope the running is going well!
