Ladies running shorts with zip pockets

Can anyone recommend to me their favourite running shorts please? I need to give Dh a list for my birthday and we have no decent sports shops near us so it's online links and I can't find what I want!

I have a men's pair from primark which are good but they are a bit long and I'd like some nice feminine colours ideally. I like the slightly looser fit of these Adidas ones.

I like the 2 layer ones preferably but the main criteria is that they must have a zip up pocket, or 2.

Also, if anyone can suggest some long running tights too that either have a zipped pocket or a deep phone pocket that would also be awesome Grin

My karrimor run long ones have a zip pocket at the back which fits my phone. They are from sports direct.

I also have a running buddy pouch (amazon) that I use when I don't have a big enough pocket. Something to think about?

Ronhill have pockets.

Pretty sure most of the (nice and cheap) Decathlon (own brand) Kalenji ones. Their tights (they do both Capri and full length, and stock thicker ones in winter) are excellent, with two pockets (usually) and drawstrings.

Always worth seeing what TKMaxx have, as well

My favourite tights are 2XU, but their pockets are rubbish. So I have a Flipbelt Zip, which stashes phone, keys and snacks very comfortably.

I have a belt/pouch thing, but it jiggles around when I run and gets on my nerves. After discovering the joy of pockets in my primark ones, it's revolutionised my running!

We do have a sports direct so I will try there

Auntiestella- where stocks ronhill please?

Mine are al Ronhill, they do shorter ones and the double ones with a longer layer underneath. The pocket fits my phone, a key and tissues, my running essential! I usually get mine online from sportsshoes.com or run4it.com, sportsshoes is cheaper.

Sweaty Betty has good run shorts - I like the Time Trial ones. There is a pocket, but it's not big enough for my enormous Iphone. I use my flip belt impostor - worth checking these out, no jiggling.

I get mine from Runners Need

It's a shop where you rarely have to pay the full price - they price match, and have various discounts for occupations eg NHS, Armed Forces etc, members of their own running club, people entered in events the company sponsors, sometimes money off if you recycle old trainers with them

Ah thanks all, I will do a bit of online research!

I have the sweaty Betty challenge running shorts. I don't have a massive phone but do have a bulky car key. The pocket is big enough to fit both so I don’t need my flip belt. Unlike the pocket in my karrimor leggings (key won’t fit). Just bought SB leggings in the sale - same size pocket.

Just been to various places in town, I managed to get a couple of cheap pairs in sports direct with zips, and a pair of tights with a deep pocket in tkmaxx, but I think a trip to decathlon or Nike might be in order once I've saved up a bit of money! The woman in JD sports told me that 'ladies shorts are for fashion not actually for working out in' so I resisted the urge to do a big Jim Carey 'aaaaaaallllrightythen'

The karrimor section in sports direct looked promising though so I will pop back after my birthday if I get any money!

@thenewaveragebear1983 Hi! I actually just got some new ones from Very and I really like them, they're not too expensive either and the small fits perfectly for me.

another vote for the challenge shorts from Sweaty Betty. They have them in black and a lovely peachy colour.

speak2me · 06/07/2019 07:25

Might not be quite what your after but I got these from M and S, they have a huge zip pocket which fits my brick of a phone plus other bits. They have a great high waist with drawstring if needed and the legs don't budge. I rate them!

I suspect the OP is sorted now, but for anyone else, I love these
