Hi
I've posted before about hip pain brought on by running, this is still a work in progress. But now I have a dull, throbbing ache in my groin. It's difficult to sit comfortably as no matter what position I sit in, it throbs!
I've tried hip flexor stretches, as I thought that might be what's wrong, but no joy. Tried Pilates too, also no joy.
Anyone got any ideas what it could be, and if there's anything I could do to ease it without bothering my Dr again? FWIW the doctor gave me naproxen for my hip, but that doesn't seem to help much with either issue.

I'm not sure but you might find that a physio, particularly one with experience of treating runners, will be better to see than a GP.

Agree, time to see a physio. Pilates is likely to be very helpful, and you could also try pool running. But targeted exercises from a physio are likely to be the best intervention right now.

Sports massage therapist or physio

iliotibial band?

Thank you everyone! This is so frustrating. I love running it really helps me clear my head. My usual physio has moved away so I suppose it's time to find a new one.

Have you ever been pregnant? Sounds like my spd/pgp which unfortunately didn't go away as soon as ds was born like everyone promised. I find deep transverse abdominal exercises the most useful, lots of kegels and hip bridges. Might be worth checking with a women's health physio if the running physio doesn't work out.

@MotherForkinShirtBalls yes I have! 13 years ago now, but it's worth checking out. Thank you. I bloody love Mumsnet.
