Switching from FitBit to Apple Watch?

Sort of exercise related. I've currently got a Fitbit Charge 2 which I've been really pleased with. Had it for about 2 years now and the battery is starting to perish now (won't hold charge for longer than a day and needs constant charging). I really want to get an Apple Watch series 4 but where we have a Fitbit scale (though this feeds into MFP) I'm wondering if it's worth the trade off.

I've heard really conflicting opinions about people switching.

Personally, I love my Apple Watch, but it was remarkably cheap via my health insurance (Vitality). I've had it for 18 months now, had a Fitbit Alta before that.

I like the 3 pronged focus - active calorie, 30 mins exercise and 12 hour stand goals, rather than just the 10000 steps, which was so arbitrary. I like all the different sports activities I can choose. I like the monthly challenges the watch sets me. I like getting notifications and calls on my watch that I can respond to without my phone if necessary.

However, my watch needs charging more frequently than my Fitbit (I just charge it overnight every night, not an enormous hardship), it's an expensive piece of kit, I don't know if I would have wanted to pay full price for it.

I also love my Apple Watch but cannot compare to a Fitbit as I have never had one of those. The watch needs charged every night but lasts fine throughout the day.
