Hi just wondering if any one can help me, I started c25k Easter Sunday after not running for 5 years, previously I could manage about 10k 3 times a week. Week 1 was fine as was first run of week 2, the second run I had mild pain in my knees than the third it was increased since then i can hardly walk I've tried ibuprofen and paracetamol but after 4 hours I need to take more, this has been happening for over a week and hasn't improved at all. I've googled stress fractures and the symptoms and cause match. So today I called the dr and was made to feel like it was just pain from starting exercise and not to run until the pain is better, I tried to explain I can hardly walk I won't be running he then gave me the number of a physio to call I thought I'd reiterate my worry about stress fracture to them, the soonest I can be contacted is the 26th of may .... how does it sound?? Should I wait it out and hope I'm being dramatic or call nhs direct?? My knees feel like if I put my foot down wrong it would buckle I can't move suddenly, which is hard to avoid with a 2 and 4 year old .... I got off the phone to the dr and cried I'm in so much pain I just wish See someone in person

Thank you if you got through all that

God, sorry OP. This sounds really hard and you should go and visit the doctor and urge them to take a look. It's affecting your daily living and you need someone to actually look at it to ensure all is as it should be.

Give them a call back and tell them you need to make an appointment. Hope it goes well for you.

Thank you. I think I will, it hasn't felt any better since it started Sad I think I'll keep dosed up and call them Monday and tell the receptionist the dr told me to call and book in if no improvement (complete lie but...)

Do you have a minor injuries unit or nurse at your doctors/hospital? Perhaps go via that route if you're looking for some feedback quickly.

That's a good point, We have a minor injuries ten minutes away, I could pop over there tomorrow when my daughter is at preschool if it feels the same by morning, I'm guessing it will there's been no change so far ... that would save me from the scenario of seeing the dr I spoke with on the phone and having the same conversation I had yesterday
