If you play tennis, what do you wear in the summer?

I recently took up tennis. I'm nowhere near the stage of playing in matches and needing to wear whites - but as it gets warmer, I know I won't be comfortable at training sessions wearing leggings.

I tried on some skorts but they are too short. They seem very unflattering on a woman 40+ who has always had biggish thighs.

Can you recommend anything? Are there longer skirts/skorts that look flattering? Anyone have some shorts that are not skin-tight or short-short which work?

How about something like thufrom Decathlon?

I'm sure I've seen them knee length and in other colours too (more appear around the time of Wimbledon)

I just wear three quarter sports leggings and t shirts. Really not going to wear short tennis skirts!

I wear a tennis skort or shorts TBH, and don't really care if anyone's looking at my legs. Or you could go for capris?

I am 48 and just wear skorts, flashing my cellulite and varicose veins happily

Head do a longer length skort, google them!

Thanks. I found a tennis site with loads on and ordered a Head one with shorts that are just slightly below the skirt line. Surprisingly it looks okay. I get too hot wearing leghings, even knee length ones, so glad to have found that the cycling short length doesn't make my thighs look worse. Also glad to hear other women my age don't care and wear skirts, shorts, skirts.

yes, just go for it. At my club there's lots of ladies in their 60s and 70s wearing skorts in all colours of the rainbow.

I like that attitude. I mean, why the hell not?

Tennis skorts are the most comfortable thing to wear for tennis, comfy, lightweight, not restricting, you can tuck the tennis balls in the leg when you're serving, they are popular for a reason. And non of these reasons disappear with chunkier legs, varicose veins or cellulite Grin (describing my legs, not yours OP!)
