Achilles/ calf pain

Argh. Achilles is flaring up - seen sports physio and he did massage- ouch and ultrasound and sent me on my way - happy for me to run the half in 2 weeks but I did 12 miles today and it’s sore now. Will I be ok if I rest now with only a few little runs?

Think of it as your taper!

And remember that pain in heels might be referred from an actual cause elsewhere (my calf pain was compensation from a hip issue).

So run much shorter distances and really think about your form.

Objectively, it's probably a bad idea to do the half, but you probably will, so go steady (no PB chasing) and if crocked again then, long and proper rest

You’re right Auntie. It’s not mega painful just juggling and stiff today - I’ll ease off now and maybe just walk a bit and maybe a couple of very slow ones. No plans for a PB. Complete not compete is the plan!
