Help! Before I had kids I ran 10ks and 5ks and went to the gym for hrs because I had nothing else to do. Now I have two kids and run my own business and when I think of going out for a run I just think what’s the point - I have tons of other stuff I could be doing. I have run a couple of Race for Life in the past few years with the intention of getting back into it but I don’t seem to put any real effort into the training. How do I love it again? I feel like I need a purpose. I won’t just do it for fun anymore when there’s a ton of other stuff to do

Find an easy route that is ideally scenic that you know the distance of, say 2 miles. Find a spare half an hour and put your kit on and your trainers on and tell yourself you jog out and if you don't want to jog back you can walk. Force yourself to get out of the door.
Even if you hate every second of it you'll feel miles better when you get back.

Thanks I suppose it is a case of forcing myself and starting slowly.

Carve out some time, even if timetabled (in fact, that may be easier). Exercising isn't just for your benefit, keeping healthy, both physically and mentally, benefits your family too, I have loads more energy when exercising, plus you're modelling great behaviour to the children that exercise is a part of daily life, not just another lesson at school.

You could also try other types of exercise, classes, yoga, YouTube videos, swimming, cycling...

Best of luck!
