After Couch5k - let’s keep running...

There’s a group of us just finished the couch25k (New Years resolutions and all that...) so I thought I’d start a thread for us to keep up with our running progress as I know it was so helpful having the devious thread.

So I did my first post-couch25k run this morning. I was going to do 4.8 but I felt pretty good so decided to do the whole 5k. Managed it in 35 minutes which I was really pleased about. I’m still utterly amazed that I can run longer than 2 minutes without stopping.
So now I think I’m going to keep with the Monday, Wednesday, Friday pattern and keep doing 5k.

I'll give that a go. Again tonight I had discrepancies! Thanks!

Hi @crumpet and @Pardalis
Congrats on graduating :) now the hard bit starts of staying motivated!
I use the Runtastic app and it records both time and distance.

I’ve been slack over the last two weeks - work has been crazy hectic plus this time of year is a lot of late nights and parties so I’ve been running only once in the last two weeks Blush
But I’m on holiday now so I’m going to commit to running although we’re travelling a bit so will have to find some routes.

Hope all the other runners are doing well :)

Thanks @timetomoveon, I’ve just completed my first Parkrun, which was hard but fun. Comfortably in the bottom third of the field, but I did it! Hopefully going regularly will help to keep the motivation up, and if I try and stretch the training beyond 5k it will make the 5k runs easier!

Well done on the park run @crumpet. I wish I had something like that to motivate me.

I realized an ambition today - I ran with ds11 for the first time. He loves running and so this morning, on the first day of our holiday we went for a 3.5km run together. It was great - running for me has always been solitary so far but this was something I really wanted to do. I wanted to show him that even his unfit old mother could do something if she set her mind to it. We’re going to do it again in 2 days Smile

I had a great run today! Slightly changed my technique, upped my pace and really enjoyed it. Did 6.67km but that included warm up and warm down walk.
I think it helped that I had a decent healthy lunch. Fuel in the tank!

Nice @Pardalis :) how long did you wait after eating to run? I always run first thing in the morning so I’m always running on an empty stomach.

Went for another run with my ds this morning. Did 3.5km again - it was soooooo hot this morning (36 degrees before 7am) but it was good to get out there.

Hey everyone, how's it going?

Have been running but finding it hard without a programme. However, I have got a place on Team Tommy for the London Landmarks half marathon next year. Got my motivation back. And it certainly showed in my run tonight!

Now got to devise a programme 😊
