Exercising in lunch hour

I'm about to start a new job which has a gym about 10 mins walk away and am thinking about joining.
If you exercise in your lunch hour can you talk me through what you do including how you look presentable after, and when/what you eat? I'm a complete beginner and I am looking to get fit & loose some weight.
Thanks

I used to do this. Half hour classes at the gym so would change at work into gym kit & then run to gym for class & then run back after. We had a shower at work so would have a speedy shower after & then lunch at my desk.
Food wise I would time it so I could do a 12 or 12.30 class so I wouldn't be too starving. I'd also have a snack at around 10.30 of something like rice cakes with almond butter & sliced banana.

We have a gym at work, I never do anything too sweaty, a walk uphill on the treadmill amd the recliner bike and some Pilates/toning floor exercises and a stretch. Takes 40 mins and a quick change before and a shower after makes it to an hour. I take a home made lunch with me and eat it at my desk when I get back.

I don't think I'm losing weight but I'm more flexible and it gives me much need headspace during the day.
