Running v Walking (arthritic knees)

I used to run years ago and hurt my knee as I dont think I was wearing the correct shoes at the time.

I need to lose about half a stone but more importantly need to tone up as am very flabby.

Thinking of doing couch25k and already walk 30 minutes most days but would love to run again.

Am I correct in thinking it will tone up my flabby/cellulite thighs better than walking which does nothing?

Also when I have tried gentle jogging it feels like I need a bra for my bum cheeks lol, does anyone else have that problem?

C25k sounds like a good place to start to me. I used to find running on concrete really hard on my knees, running on grass was the only thing that really worked. What sort of trousers are you wearing? Something stretchy/lycra should 'hold everything in place' Wink

Thank you, I probably do need to bite the bullet and try running again. Really need to tone all the jiggly bits but at my age its probably a losing battle lol.

I do wear leggings but maybe they are not heavy duty enough to contain the flab!
