Fitness Trackers for Running

looking for a fitness tracker for DH for Christmas.
There seem to be so many options I don't kmow where to start. He'd like one that he can set his desired pace in and then it bleeps after x minutes or x distance (i don't know how these things work).

I've tried googling but not getting much joy.
Has anyone got a fitness watch that does this? any recommendations?

Thanks

The Garmin ones seem to be the choice of runners. Everyone at my running club has one. The forerunner 235 I have is great and is cheaper now as a newer model is out. (945 I think)

they do seem to be the best ones judging by the articles I've read but I was hoping to not spend that much (it's not his main present). the main feature he wants is the pacing thing but I'm struggling to work out which ones do it and which don't from the descriptions online

My DH runs and has asked for this for Christmas.

Huawei Band 2 Pro Fitness Wristband Activity Tracker - Black (Built-in GPS, Up to 21 days usage) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074FZST75/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_MNldCbBCTA7HY

He's very techy so I presume it's a good one and it is pretty cheap too.

thanks Cheese . I'll have a look at that one

Depends how much you want to spend but I love love love my Apple Watch.
I use a running app and it just plays it from my watch and it tracks all my data and I can play music through it. It means I just put my bloothtooth speakers in and go.
I bought it at John Lewis so I could add insurance on much cheaper than Apple care.

I have the Huawei Band 2, I got it last Christmas. It's been great and is certainly the best for its price range. It buzzes at each km so fits the bill!

Doje that is exactly what he's looking for Smile

Thank you all

name change fail!

I promise I don't work for Huawei! But this has just popped up in my feed today if you're interested OP.

It's on Amazon for £45 today, which is a bit of a bargain.

Ah, this is reassuring - I got DP the Huawei Band 2 Pro yesterday and popped in to this thread to see if I'd missed a trick. Great to know even amidst all the confusing techy runny terms we've found a winner!

cheeseismyspiritanimal · 12/12/2018 18:28

I posted earlier on the thread recommending the Hauwei tracker that I've got for DH. I've now asked for one myself due to all these positive comments. Sounds like it's a good one 👍🏼

I know what your DH is on about and I would be very surprised if a Huawei would do that. My watch shows me how fast I’ve run and how far, current pace/distance etc. It can also be set to a certain pace so will beep when I am running at that pace. Same with distance, although it beeps every mile too. I’ve got a garmin. I take it he’s a runner, and I looked at the Huawei specs and it said 3.5 hours for GPS. If he’s serious or thinking about a marathon, that may not be enough.

MazeCrystals · 14/12/2018 23:13

dangermouse yes he's started running but no where near ready for a marathon yet.

I think to get a watch that paces properly it would be something like garmin but to start I think he'd be happy just getting a beep every km so he can judge how he's doing.

I've gone for the band 3 pro and if uses it I'll look at a Garmin for his birthday
