Evening exercise classes - When to eat?

Hi, I've just joined my local gym and will be going to some of their workout classes, mainly thinking Body Pump and Zumba to begin with.

I work 9-5 mon-fri and don't tend to get home until about 6pm. For classes that start between 6.45-7.30pm I'm really not sure when I should have tea! I don't want to exercise on a full stomach but have also read that having meals late in the evening isn't great either.

I'd love to hear other people's tips/ suggestions, in particular if you work out at similar times and what's worked for you!

Hi, OP I usually exercise in the evening. I eat afterwards (so about 8.30/9). Tend to have a late lunch and/or substantial afternoon snack (oatcakes, cheese, fruit, protein bar, that sort of thing). I often don't eat breakfast. It seems to work fine.

I have a main meal at lunchtime and then eat after the class. Sometimes, I will have an afternoon snack a couple of hours before the class.

I prefer not to eat after 9pm, and I have a couple of classes where that's around the time I get home, so it doesn't always work, but I definitely eat less if I'm eating late.
