I'm a newish runner of less than 12 months. I run 5-10km 3 times per week.
Last Monday as I started running (treadmill this time) after a 5 min warm up walk my calf muscle "twanged". I stopped immediately. Straight away the pain was only 2/10. A week later it's still sore-ish. 1-2/10 when walking. If I try a run the pain is 3-4/10 so I stop.
I take it I have to wait until it recovers? Any idea how long it will take? Or can I run through it? Ok, I'm guessing not the latter but thought I'd ask
It's getting frustrating!!
