Bournemouth marathon anyone?

Anyone else planning to run the Bournemouth Marathon this Sunday? Or any of the other events there over this weekend.

Will be my first, last and only and the thought of it is making me tired at the moment!

Did the marathon in 2013 and doing the 10k on Saturday. Weather looks appalling though! Hopefully will be better for you on Sunday. Best of luck with it!

Oh that's a shame sandsnake. There is heavy rain forecast for Saturday, but hopefully it won't be as bad as predicted. Nor will it move to Sunday!

My husband ran it in 2015, and as a spectator it came across as a well-organised, friendly and uncrowded event. Lots of very serious runners, but also lots of people 'just wanting to get round'.

Yes, definitely a quieter race compared to other marathons I’ve run.

Just be cautious of non-runners. Our biggest obstacle was pedestrians who didn’t give a shit that we’d run 20 miles and were happily wandering in front of us, blocking the route etc.

Ha! Yes, I remember my husband was dodging people eating ice cream and fish and chips wandering up and down the sea front during the last few miles.
