Hooping!

Hello all!
Does anyone do hula hoop at home? I have a little one at home so can’t get out to go to an exercise class. Was considering hooping in the living room but wondering how effective it is? Just want to tone up my stomach and tops of legs.
Thank you!

Hiya, before i was pregnant i used to hoop.
I purchased a weighed hoop though as opposed to a standard hoop as it puts more pressure on the areas.
Theyre not expensive but really quite effective.
They will......however - leave you with bruises so be warned!!!
I loved mine especially to fast tempo music

I saw a weighted one in home bargains the other day which is what made me think about it. How often did you hoop and for how long? Did you notice a difference in your body, toned?

Hooping will keep you active but unless you do it for hours a day, isn't going to be the most effective. I would buy a skipping rope!

I haven’t the space for a skipping rope in the house :( gutted I didn’t skip in the spring/summer outside. Want to do something in the house so I can entertain the baby at the same time.

Go for the hula hoop then OP!

I'm in the same dilemma as you. 35 weeks pregnant and trying to find an effective way to tone back up after baby is born. Feeling quite motivated! Let's see how I feel after baby is born...

Best of luck!

I wanted to hoop but couldn't find any beginner routines. I can do the basic hoop but nothing else.

I’m thinking just hoop as fast as I can with some music on Grin

I guess that could work. I got bored after a while though. And you don't have to hoop very fast to keep it up.
I looked for classes too but it seems to have been a short lived thing.

I used to hoop with my weighted hula hoop and it defiantly made my tummy slimmer. Probably did 10-20 minutes a day whilst waiting for dinner to cook.

I should start it again as it's really quite fun. I did get a few bruises on my hips from it though!
