Can anyone help with a running training plan?

Hi,

I’ve just signed up for a 5k in 17 weeks time. I hope to run it in around 25 minutes. I was running regularly until around 7 weeks ago and haven’t run at all since. Most of the training plans I can find are shorter than 17 weeks but I’m keen to get started and build my fitness up ASAP. Can anyone point me in the right direction? TIA

Have you looked at the couch 2 5K app? You could start with that and once you reach 5K work on your time.

Most training plans involve a speed session, like intervals, fartlek or hill reps, a long run and an easy run, with more added if you want them. You could look at how far you run now and start there, then slowly add distance to the long run.
