Dumbbells - what weight?

Hi all,

I’ve recently started doing a bit more resistance exercise and some of the videos I’m using use dumbbells so I’d like to get some (so I don’t just use tinned beans which feel like they don’t do much!).

I’m just wondering what weight will be best to get? My upper body strength is quite poor. What should I start off with?

I started off with a cheap set from Argos or similar with 1kg, 3kg and 5kg, and they've served me well for years.

The bigger Tesco’s do some good hand weights. I think they come in 2lbs or 5 lbs.

Thank you! Will check out Tesco and Argos. A set with a few options sounds like a good idea 👍🏼

Argos sell an adjustable set to which you can add plates. You want to get something challenging, that can grow with you.
