Should I get a Personal Trainer

Hi
I’ve been thinking, should I book some sessions with a PT at my gym?...
I am on a weight loss journey & currently need to lose 4 stone.
I go to the gym on & off due to my lack of motivation and my results are very slow...it took me 12 weeks to lose 7lbs :(
I want to be healthy again & gain my confidence back.
Has anybody had/trained with a PT?? Will my weight loss speed up?

I know of one person who had a PT and it really helped her as she felt more motivated to go to the gym (so as not to let them down), and they really pushed her limits when she was there.

I think you should also look at what you're eating. Losing weight is mostly about what you're eating.

A PT will help with your motivation certainly. But I agree with the PP. Weight loss is primarily about nutrition. A good PT will seek to address this too.

Hi,

A PT will help you with nutrition if you get the right one.

I started with a PT just under a year ago and I have lost around 15kg with ten more to go. He's really helped me with motivation and pushing me but at the end of the day it's been my own volition that has pushed me through.

I found training for a 10K and then half marathon really helped to motivate me. As time as gone on, it's helped me change my diet as well.

I've done this alongside the training sessions at the gym 2 to 3 times a week. It's been expensive but totally worth it thus far.

Best of luck
