Anyone fancy a MN July challenge? My Watch has set me to double my move goal twice, which although I don't do very frequently, won't be that hard if I set my mind to it.

I'm also going to try and burn 10,000 cals using my workout stats (so if on the App you go to Workouts, then select year, you can see your monthly stats). If I were to do 31 workouts this month, I will have to average 322 cals per workout to meet my goal - pretty challenging...

Anyone else up for it?

I doubled mine this morning weight training and tripled it yesterday my watch is set only at 650 at the moment. My challenge this month is 67 workout to complete already done 7

carrie74 · 02/07/2018 15:17

Wow strong, that's amazing! It's only the 2nd Shock. I've managed 2 workouts - 50 mins of HIIT yesterday, and a 30 min run this morning (yoga tonight).my calves are complaining Grin. So my total so far: 813 calories. My daily goal is 450, so quite a bit lower than yours, but I need to do 60 mins of high intensity work to get that (or about double lower intensity stuff). It's a challenge with a sedentary job TBH.

Actually, that's a lie, as my 30min run this morning burnt 311 calories, and an hour's PT session would burn about 500-550 calories.

I was weight training alone today and did my cardio alone yesterday also average around 25000 steps.

I weight train x 5 a week
Hot yoga x3 a week
Hiit efficienciently done with full effort x3 time a week max lasting no more than 30 minutes. If anyone is doing this for longer isn’t working hard enough you feel physically out of breath
Steady state cardio is walking my dogs and I don’t Tuttle along at snail pace.

carrie74 · 02/07/2018 16:46

Great work strong.

Yes, I agree re HIIT, I think some things get labelled as HIIT when they're not really. The 50 mins I did yesterday was via Fitness Blender - 3 sets of circuits really. I was dripping and definitely couldn't speak!!

Back's killing me today, think I Over-stretched at yoga. A bit of foam rolling action has helped, sitting around at my desk all day hasn't helped. DS and I took a stroll this evening, loving this weather!!

Definitely feel a bit better for moving.

Total calories burnt via workouts in July: 1149

Ooh Apple Watch sharing place excellent.

DH & I have had ours over a year now. Everyday is about hitting that bloody move goal.

It has worked wonders though & DH has shed over 4st in a year mainly through cardio.

My move goal is at 500 right now but has been at 520 at its highest. I can hit it most days with general walking & 1 workout. I do cross trainer, cycling, yoga & kettlebells classes.

Today is a rest day though & I know I need to chill hard when the watch is nagging you to close all the blinking circles.

carrie74 · 06/07/2018 13:47

Hey Tigress, yes those bloody rings, I love them and hate them in equal measure!

Back still hurting so had to cancel PT session today and circuits class last night. V cross. Saw osteo this morning which was bliss and now need to do some more targeted exercises before I see him again. Nearly floated out of his office so jumped on my bike for a quick half hour jaunt, and now my back is aching again Hmm. Hey hi, it's getting a bit better, so hopefully will work itself out soon.

Total workout cals burnt July: 1388. Need to up the ante somewhat....

Hey there, back now sorted (wonderful osteopath!), and back on it. Don't want to do too much too soon, so been doing shorter workouts and evening walks. Also signed up to a 4 week Fitness Blender programme to hopefully hone my body a teeny bit more in time for our holiday...Have gone for the 4 week Bodyweight programme, so far so easy, but am sure it'll ramp up a bit.

So, as it stands, I've done 15 workouts of more than 15 mins in July, with a total calorie count of 2190. Hopefully will edge that up with a long walk with friends after dinner, and back on it this week...

Slightly talking to myself here Grin.

So have signed up to a Fitness Blender 4 week programme as an extra kick up the backside. This week started great, then Tuesday I gave blood after work (couldn't work out), Wednesday had loads of people at ours to watch the football straight from work (couldn't work out). Thursday did my normal circuits class, and Friday my PT session. Saturday was at Wimbledon all day, so today was the first day since MONDAY that I could get back into my FB programme. Hey ho.

Regarding my 10000 July workout calories as per my watch, am now up to 4595, so nearly halfway there at the near halfway month mark. Smile

@carrie74 well done! I've just upped my exercise goal to 750 and I've looked at joining a gym near me but there are like none.. so I'll have to go a bit further out. Just need to start using my watch for what it was bought for!! 🤦‍♀️😂

carrie74 · 15/07/2018 22:11

Ooh nice work @Fattygettingthin! 750 is a big one to meet every day! There aren't really any gyms near me either, I live quite rurally, and although work near a gym, I'm forever dropping kids off and picking them up with no time in between (and only half an hour for lunch), so seems a waste of money to join. But I also quite like working out at home. Even on holiday if we've got use of a gym, I'll often do stuff I know from my home workouts (last holiday gym I was in had a woman who had her workout on a video on her phone, didn't clock what it was, but assumed a programme she was sticking to, even while away).

Fattygettingthin · 16/07/2018 00:28

Yeah same here! The closest gym is about 45 mins away. And I tend to just do the 30 day shred on my phone Blush

carrie74 · 23/07/2018 14:42

Just checking in...

Haven't been able to do my FB programme at all since last week, been too busy doing other things (bike rides, tennis, walks, circuits etc, so still active at least).

As at end of play yesterday, I'd burnt 6632 workout calories in July, so I can still get to my 10,000, but I need to be on it. Planning a FB workout today after work (2 if I've got time).

Latest update:

Just finished a PT session, now up to 8136 workout calories burnt in July. Big push to finish with 5 days to go. I've also got a 200 cal walk that my watch lost, so keeping that one in hand if required 😂.

Final update:

50 workouts in July, averaging 37 mins and 200 calories. Total workout calorie burn for July 10041.

I'm off to eat all the ice cream 😁
