Gym or Swim?

Hi - help me choose what to do this lunchtime...

Go to the gym where I would do 30 minutes at level 16 on both intensity and speed on the crosstrainer and then do 15 minutes of arm weights, tricep dips, core exercises and lunges, and stretching....

OR:

Go swimming where I would swim 64 lengths (a mile) of 20 lengths brisk front crawl, 10 of kicking, 10 of arms, 10 of breaststroke and then more front crawl. This will take me 35 minutes.

Which will burn more calories and be better for me? I am genuinely interested in your views.

I was always surprised how
Many calories I would burn on a proper
Swim. Feels gentle because you're cool in the water but you are actually getting a great workout. No idea what you get from the cross trainer but I found it hard to burn decent calories on there so my idea would be to swim

thanks Elsa. I think I will. Always feel great after swimming.

I do sweat buckets on the XTrainer so assume it is burning a decent chunk!
