Controlling my breathing

I started running in November.
Never run before. Within 2 months I had done a couple of 10k runs around my local area with my sister, and up until recently have run about 5k every other night.
I have slipped discs and sciatica but the running seems to have prevented any flare ups(or I have just been lucky?)
I also have asthma and as before, until recently With my inhalers , my breathing has been fine.
In the last 3 weeks, I can't run more than 2.5k and thats with about 6 stops, as my chest is on fire!! What the hell is wrong with me??
I'm going to the docs in the morning as I want to get it under control and up my distance and speeds.
Feel very disgruntled!

You might just be going through a bad patch at random.

Or something about your training regime might have aggravated your asthma, and this is how it presents during exertion

Or it might be pollen - lots of runners suffer during the peak hayfever weeks. Tree pollen very high round here right now. If the gap decides this is the likeliest, then it's really just a case of running more slowly until pollen count falls.

I hope your appointment goes well
